THE DESCENDANT is a five part episodic adventure game series where the end of the world is only the start.
After climate change wrecked the planet, a man-made extinction event wiped humankind off the face of the Earth. Only a few thousand ‘descendants of humanity’ were hand-picked to survive the apocalypse, cryogenically suspended in underground bunkers known as Arks.
Centuries passed. The world recovered from the nuclear holocaust, and all the Arks reopened, except one — Ark-01.
Quote:
Taking place across two timelines, in the past you'll play as Mia, a janitor tasked with keeping the precious descendants housed within Ark-01 alive while the facility continually fails around her, and in the present, you'll play as Donnie, one of the investigators trying to rescue any surviving descendants trapped within, all while discovering a far greater conspiracy buried within the underground Ark complex.
Every action and choice you make directly impacts who lives and who dies, leaving the fate of Ark-01, and mankind itself, in your hands. Will you save mankind? Or doom us all?

A friend bought stocks in this game, told him it was a bad idea and it seems like it was, he's lost quite a bit of cash so far.
The thing is, its not from amateurs either (one of the main guys has worked for EA, Ubisoft, Warner Bros..) + it's not exacly indie money we are talking here. I think it looks like ass, especially if you compare to TellTale.
- The game is 60 minutes long for 3 dollars. Horrible gameplay/price ratio!
- The graphics is flickering (lagging). Looks like it is due to memory leakage. UNACCEPTABLE. I am usually not sensitive to minor lag, but my 2 000 $ computer was showing signs of graphics lags.
- The choices do not matter at all in this episode. Outcome will be the EXACT same, even inside of the episode. The only thing which will be slightly different is how the character replies to the exact sentence you chose.
- There are ~6 choices in this game (dialogue choices only, which does not change outcome at all), whereas Life is Strange had ~180 choices in the first episode. The choices are really boring as well.
- The game is REALLY slow paced. The 60 minutes of gameplay gets you NO WHERE.
- The "puzzles" in the game are a super poor version of Grim Fandango. I would recommend anyone interested in this game purchasing Grim Fandango instead, as it is more or less the same game in another universe, but with way more and better gameplay.
- No gamepad support.
This game was funded by investors, who purchased stocks in Gaming Corps. I was one of these investors. We did not get to see this game until two days ago. Upon playing the game, most investors were horrified and sold the shares, resulting in -30% stock value. However, a bunch of investors still want this game to sell; therefore, many positive reviews will be the result of biased reviewers. Moreover, critical reviews will most likely get downvoted."
Stock fell like a stone for this game, feel bad for my friend who invested a lot of money :/ Too bad he didnt take my advice.
I lasted maybe 5 minutes. The voice acting is straight from hell. Shit-deleted. If more episodes are made and people somehow begin to like the game more than they do currently perhaps I will give it a second chance.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
