No I'm not posting it to the Movie & TV Sparks section, come on.
---
I admit I haven't been paying much attention to what happened to American McGee's failed kickstarters but I do remember he decided to make "Alice 3" into a movie. Apparantly he made a kickstarted and it got funded? http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spicyhorse/alice-otherlands
---
Alice: Otherlands is a collection of computer animated shorts (for the most part.. keep reading).
Story: It's a sequel to Alice: Madness Returns. Alice has now beat her fears and weaknesses blah blah and is some sort of super hero who can jump into other people's heads, their "Wonderlands" or.. Otherlands.
Set in 1875 in London Alice will get the chance to jump into the heads of several real world famous people such as:
For example this is concept art depicting "Edisonland":
This is Alice in Jules Verne mind (20,000 Leagues Under):
You can check out more concept worlds: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/spicyhorse/alice-otherlands
Meanwhile she will have to uncover a real world conspiracy as well.
Spicy Horse is an exclusively programming/designing developer, 90% of the assets used in Alice: Madness Returns were outsouced to other, Chinese, companies, and this will be the case for the shorts as well. They will overseer but they won't make them themselves.
Each short will have its own style.
Several directors have signed up.
The voice actors of Alice and the Chesire Cat, have signed up. The composer will be Chris Vrenna, the composer of Alice 1.
---
Director Troy Morgan will use stop-animation!! for his short that will explore Alice diving into the mind of German composer, Richard Wagner. "Expect to see Valkyries, Ragnorok, and Wotan in Valhalla during this operatic animation." according to the website.
Some images:
And here is the script that will be used for the Jules Verne themed short: http://www.americanmcgee.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/AliceOtherlands_JulesVerne-v2.pdf
---
tl;dr
The bad: it seems unfocused.
The good: it has already been funded, so chill and wait for the shorts to release

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I'm totally onboard with this! I'm simply a sucker for American McGee's version of Alice in Wonderland so more of that is always welcome, whether it's a game or not.
