SMITE is an online battleground between mythical gods. Smite is similar to a traditional Dota gameplay with a few changes including a third person perspective and WASD movement. Players choose from a selection of gods, join session based 5 versus 5 arena combat, and use custom powers and team tactics against other players and minions. I just got into the closed beta, and couldn't find a thread for it if there is one.
Not really. It's decent in a LoL way. Not much depth and you don't have a ton of control(not saying you don't have control in LoL) since it's 3rd person, but it's some casual fun so far.
Takes way too long to actually unlock gods though. I've gotten 60 favor for 2 losses(got 1000 for leveling up so a bit faster than 150+ games per god ), and unlocking one god costs 5500.
I could see people that like Monday Night Combat loving this game.

The gameplay video looked OK. Although this is not exactly it, I always thought that a well made first person MOBA game would be interesting. TY. Will try it out on release. FTP right?

It's actually not a bad start... Compared to some of the other "moba" start-ups. Once you get into a game where everyone sorta knows what they're doing, there can be some pretty intense situations.
Like I said, I think it's a better start than most others in the genre (aside from the leaders, of course) and I think it has some potential.

Yeah...it took me about 15 minutres, and after I logged into game there were 3 beta keys...
If you don't already have a Hi-Rez account you can create one here.
To download the game simply click the download link located on the homepage.
After you launch the game, click Enter Beta Key on the Game login screen to activate your account.
edit: well it's almost a 100% LOL copy - aside the third person cam perspective and the gods visuals. Aside that... recycled abilities and items with exactly the same effect as in lol.
