The NFL has granted the Free Online Football game Quick Hit the rights to use all NFL teams. On the surface this may not seem like a big deal. However, EA has a exclusive license deal with the NFL. When Quick Hits CEO Jeff Anderson was asked by ESPN.com how they were able to pull the deal of considering EA's deal currently in place, Anderson responded by saying.

"That's a better question for EA," says Quick Hit CEO Jeff Anderson. "I don't have a copy of the contract they have with the NFL, but for us, it's a tremendous opportunity."

The answer comes as a bit of a shock. It has been thought that EA had sole exclusive rights to the NFL license. If the NFL was able to grant Quick Hits use of the license then it would seem that 2K have to be at least exploring the possibility of bringing back the cult hit NFL2K series.

Only time will tell.

I really hopes it's mean no more EA only NFL games, and comeback of this series for PC.

NFL back to PC from 2K? Surprised

I don't know why people don't boycott EA after they admitted doing nasty deal:
Quote:
ESPN NFL 2K5 was the first in the 2K series priced at $19.99 the day it shipped, much lower than market leader Madden NFL at $49.99. This greatly reduced Madden sales that year; one EA Sports developer recalled that "[i]t scared the hell out of us".[1] EA reduced Madden NFL 2005‍ 's price to $29.95. In December 2004 EA Sports acquired an exclusive rights agreement with the NFL and NFLPA to be the sole creator of NFL video games.
