Game Features :
4-character Party
Grid-based movement : your party moves 1 square at the time, and turns by a quarter
First person view
4 classes, 12 specializations
5 playable races : human, dwarf, elf, dark elf, halfling
Active pause (ie: you can pause the game and still queue commands for your party members)
25-50 hours of gameplay, depending on your own skills and the difficulty settings
20 bosses
100 kinds of creatures (including variations)
Puzzles (the few ones required to finish the game are easy to solve)
A lot of tactical combat
Built-in Map Editor & Modding support

It looks really good actually, I'm quite surprised at how the devs managed to keep it quiet until "surprise! it's out soon <3" One of the Grimrock devs wasn't *super* best happy about it though, he commented on how it's a little too close to Grimrock grinhurt

But Grimrock itself looks like half a dozen similar rpg's from the past too, who's to say they stole any of their assets. Razz

Aye, but in this instance.. the trailer for this one does look shockingly similar to LoG. If it wasn't for the new game mechanics/etc, I'd swear this was a commercial dungeon made in the LoG engine using LoG assets Very Happy I'm not knocking it though, no way, I loved LoG and I want more games like it ^_^

Actually I do see what you mean now. Even the little secret buttons on the wall you click on look really similar. Probably why this game managed to sneak out under the radar. Must have saved a ton of time HAD they really did pinch all grimrocks artwork. Shocked Very Happy

Oh I'm not saying anything is stolen, nor is the dev (welllll, not openly Very Happy) but there was a lot of people whining on the GL page about "stolen Grimrock assets" because of how similar they look.

This indeed looks great, albeit painfully similar to Grimrock. Like the alleged LoG dev said, the developers should've come up with something unique.

The two reviews available for the game are both very positive (And both have more than 1 hour of playtime, one of them is even close to 10 hours.) so I might pick this up eventually. Smile

Wow. This really is Legend of Grimrock, right down to the animations and the lighting. Even that little tiny piece of stone you "push" to open secret doors, it moves and looks and sounds just like it does in Grimrock. The major change is the battle and progression system - which is much more indepth here, but conversely the magic system is much more streamlined, no more runes and remember/selecting rune combinations to cast spells, here you just press the spell icon in your hotbar. I'm not really sure how I feel yet, it's kinda buggy, kinda clunky, kinda Grimrock on a Budget'y, but I guess it could be pretty fun if you're starving for more crawlers. Oh and it's real-time-with-pause combat, but it suffers from an annoying "once the targeted enemy is dead, we'll all stop attacking, even if there are 3 others attacking you" feature.
