Take command of your army as you storm through medieval Europe in an extensive series of campaigns. Choosing one of the four available nations – Viking, Anglo-Saxon, German, Slav – you will be tasked with more than just conquering, raiding and pillaging enemy camps, villages and towns. Only by utilizing the full range of available tactical options, taking strategic advantage of the environment, and managing your temporary bases and settlements, will you emerge victorious.

Extensive in-depth developer walkthrough of one of the missions from Ancestors Legacy. Our goal was to highlight the way in which we combine the storyline with gameplay in our single-player campaign, and present one of our crucial features: stealth gameplay.
Ancestors Legacy’s single-player campaign was designed to be much more of a story driven and laid back experience than the highly competitive multiplayer mode. To tell the plot, which is based on real history, we use narrated cinematics, in-game cutscene breaks and recorded English voiceovers. All that, to give players hints and enhance the feeling of victory once the mission is accomplished.
The end of Godwin’s Rebellion, which took place at Gloucester in 1051, is the last mission from one of our Anglo-Saxon campaigns. It brings together all the alliances and resources that the player has been accumulating throughout the entire campaign. It is only with these tools, and player’s own skill, that the player can win, just like the English monarch did.
lol I don't know what you guys are seeing that i'm not, it doesn't look bad at all to me. The zoom transistion from tactical view to the closest zoom switches to the cinematic view seemlessly, although you do lose the ability to issue any commands while in this view. The animations are okay for me, the battles in the cinematic view are certainly better then total wars imo.
As for the rts gameplay, it's still really early days for me yet, have yet to get round to any base buiding but theres a few mechanics which are interesting such as the ability to ambush which gives the game some focus on micro management rather then all macroing.
Each to their own though

lmao on the second map I am running around with literally 3 mongoloids trying to ambush enemies, then coming back to the camp each time one of them die, rinse and repeat.
What kind of RTS is this?!
Should I uninstall or does it magically get better?
