Wouldn't it be awesome if it was done to scale in real time? From San Francisco to New York would take, what, about a week? It would be like those bus or trucking simulators, except at high speed with cops, opponents, all the landmarks, and all the boring, mundane parts too. You'd save your game at rest stops or gas stations. They could use custom made buildings and scenery for the landmarks/citys, and sateliite imagery for the boring in between stuff where you are just going flat out 150-200 MPH on the highways. I would actually buy that game.
But you know it's really just going to be a bunch of ricers drifting through parking garages of each major city, bleh.

EA Black Box doing this shit again ?
Damn, Shift 2 is good once you calibrate your controller, but SHIFT and Hot Pursuit are just awesome, loved them both.

I was too, but it's not fun anymore. Even the arcade racing games are becoming crap nowadays. Anyway, this will be the "epic" one that all derps will love probably, the one with the deep story, because it seems that if a racing game doesn't have a story it's shit. I don't want Underground 3, I want a Porsche remake, or something like that but with all cars. I was quite excited for this new Hot Pursuit because the idea of the game was good, going back to the Hot Pursuit roots, but they fucked up the car control quite bad and that's why it failed.

I also liked the responsive controls of the older NFS games, SHIFT2, which I recently tried, had massive input lag - even with the dampening disabled fix. Now, I drive, and I drive quite fast in the real world too usually, my dad's an epic driver, and I never noticed any "input lag" or else I would be dead. So I don't know how you can justify the silly dampening as realism. Beats me...

You obviously didn't adjust the settings properly, and input dampening isn't the key setting (the sensitivities are)

Well a keyboard (or any binary input for that matter) will suck anyway, but the sensitivities should still apply
I got nothing against arcade titles, I love TrackMania and the older NFS games, but the shit we've been having the past few years have more in common with wipeOut than anything else. Hell, even wipeOut required more effort than these games :/

Last racing title I enjoyed was grid. Somehow that seemed like a perfect blend between arcade and realistic. Loved it.
