I seriouslly hope they dont fuck this shit up. They should make it an adventure game. Make it scarier than Clock Tower and Fatal Frame. Its all over if Midway takes this title. Sure, they can do alot of gore, but would the gameplay be right? I rather see this game in the adventure genre.

actually this game would have the best chances with midway, see midway has been releasing high quality games the last few years, while
core has been creating failures over failures, and the company even lost the tomb raider license (you have to suck real bad to manage that).
but either way i doubt this game could turn out to be good,
the movie was already very bad, hell the concept itself is based on the alien vs predator concept which was bad in itself (actually the whole alien vs predator thing was created only to sell some nice toys).

Midway wont do adventure games. Doubt they got any experience in that. Think about it, what possibilities are there if you dont do adventure? Controlling either Freddy or Jason would suck. I'm tellin ya, for this to work it'd have to be an adventure game. And you couldnt base it off of the movie. That would fail. Your whole tactic would be evident, you'd use Jason to take out Freddy. All I want is a good dam solid game. No crap. No storyline based off of the movie.

I agree, the best way would be a good adventure game. And you shuld not in any way play as freddy or jason, that would suck majorly.
If done properly this have a chanse of being quite good.

Yea. Normally, I would say The Adventure Company, but that shits usually aimed towards kids. The only game I've played from them was Jack The Ripper. It was decent, but it wasnt that good. It dont look good so far from the companys that IGN is showing off. EA would be a big mistake. I dont know about you, but I would rather this be first person like Shadow Tower Abyss, and Fatal Frame. Imagine going to sleep at night. All of a sudden you wake up in the streets in front of Elm Street house. Yes, I forget the address. 28 Elm? Hell, this game can be really scary. You can be trapped in a airplane, going down over Camp Crystal Lake in a dream sequence, Freddy shows up (all while graphics are used from maybe Unreal 3 engine?) blah blah blah. Has the potential to be great. I still say their going to screw this up though. This game certainlly wouldnt be ready until the PS3 ships out is my take. When thats done, the good graphics I was talking about could quite possible be in use than. If not it would be for the XBox 360 possibly. If done right, this game could put Silent Hill to shame.
BTW, I'm not sure anyone heard about this yet. Its going to sound really weird and far out. But I was listening to Coast To Coast AM (if any of you live in US and get that radio station), the host was saying something about Sony coming up with the idea of some new transmitter for video games. When put on it would trick your neurons in the brain to actually smell and feel stuff in the game. Yea, but its not a rumor. They were going on to say that it could actually do damage. They wouldnt know if it could have some effect on someone using it in the long run. I imagine it could do some damage to people. Usually when you fool around with someones brain you tend to damage them.

yea i d rather pass on that anyway, i dont wanna smell the crap snake is hiding in, smell the rotten blood of zombies in resident evil or kuma's fart move in tekken 5.
they better invent something that makes you feel objects etc. on your skin when interacting with in the game,
you get the point, virtual blowjob

I think it's a pretty safe bet to say that EA WILL win this bidding war. As long as they still have cash after purchasing the rights to the NFL, NCAA football, and ESPN. They probably still have enough cash to buy the rights to another lame attempt at a movie conversion.

But thats exactly what noone wants. A gay movie conversion. I seriouslly doubt thats what will happen. Some games today you never see turn out like their movie parts. Thats like taking AvP games and making them based off the movies. Wont happen. I still think the game should be adventure.
Just because EA has money doesnt exactly mean their interested in this title. Sure, I saw some company names on the biddings. But its still in the early stages, and its not even in the process of being made. Sure, its safe to say that out of all those few companys listed, EA is definately the richest. But EA has no experience in horror games. Atleast good solid ones, nevermind adventure ones. So, once again you basically have a game that has soo much potential, and yet has a great possibility to be ripped apart by the game companys. When I say that this game has the potential to destroy Silent Hill and Fatal Frame, that says something. I just hope it doesnt turn out to be the game that never was. I bet people can recall that this has happened before.
