The half-hour series, which premiers April 10, stars Riley Keough. It’s based on the 2009 movie of the same name helmed by Steven Soderbergh about a high-end call girls who offer what is known as “the girlfriend experience” to clients. But beyond the title, the TV series is largely a fresh start from the movie, written and directed by Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz.
“The mandate was to take the title and start over,” Soderbergh said.
Keough plays a law student in Chicago and intern at a prestigious firm who is introduced into the world of transactional relationships. One of the most significant themes in the show is that Keough’s character feels in control of her life, in contrast to most portrayals of prostitution.
“What this show portrays that is really important is that this is a woman who likes sex, without guilt and without shame,” Kerrigan said. “She’s a sexual person.”
Soderbergh added that the show aims to offer an honest look on activity that goes on every day, without casting judgment on any of the participants.
Anyways, I've watched the pilot and I didn't see any porn. Other than that it was kinda mediocre..Oh, and Riley Keough is no Sasha Grey for sure.. They could have found someone prettier than this girl for a series like this one
I'll watch the next episodes to see where this show is going but I don't expect much if anything. Thankfully episodes are short.

Shin Chan is the man hahahah!
I'm out of Japan like 17 years now, however, you think I'm japenese 100% that's okay for me.
I've just watched the first five episodes out of curiosity (was planning to watch only two, but there was an evil cliffhanger that felt like a brutal coitus interruptus, so I had to continue until I could ), my impressions are more or less the same as yours.
It's decent, very aseptic at times as per Soderbergh tradition, but it doesn't seem to reach any heights especially in the writing department. Still, watchable for what it is (I'll definitely finish it), though I do disagree about Miss Riley! She steals my heart in every single scene, gorgeous :3*
*she does have the typical resting bitch face from time to time, but it's likely part of the character xD
Loving this one. The best thing is that it's not a soft porn But slow and stylish meditative treat. Getting Eyes Wide Shut and Mulholland Drive vibes from this one.
Lead actress is a very cute one - dat sad voice and sad face
How this series? some femina*** here started whining about the series,"Violence against women" and demanded from well known channel to drop the series,I am not really waching that channel, bearly even using TV,when I can get 1080p form the net
The 14-episode season will break from the format of the first season and follow two parallel storylines that each focus on a new cast of characters and "the price of intimacy and its emotional consequences."
The first storyline is set in Washington, D.C., and explores the influence of dark money in the upcoming 2018 U.S. mid-term election. Pushing Daisies star Anna Friel portrays Erica Myles, the determined finance director of a Republican super PAC, while Louisa Krause (Billions) plays Anna Garner, who is described as "a confident and intelligent GFE provider at the top of her game." When Erica asks Anna for her help in blackmailing a powerful person to gain access to an entire network of secret donors, the two embark on a sexual relationship of dominance and submission.
The second storyline takes place in New Mexico and follows Bria, a former high-end escort played by Carmen Ejogo (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), who has entered the Witness Protection Program to escape an abusive relationship. Resettled and missing the allure of her former career and the lavish gifts that came with it, Bria begins to work once more as a sex worker. Her decision eventually comes to threaten her new life, the life of her estranged step-daughter and the US Marshal (Tunde Adebimpe, Spider-Man: Homecoming) assigned to watch over them.
