They are cool, and they work.

Thank you.

Edit: at mod request...

FUNCTION--Block the glare with the only patented computer eyewear recommended by doctors to protect and enhance your vision through the use of their specially designed lenses featuring proprietary tints and coatings that block blue light and glare .

FRAME--Weighing in at only 20-grams, these lightweight glasses are properly balanced to reduce pressure points and combat eye strain,132-millimeter temples and full rim frame are forged from injection polymer to ensure lightweight durability.Keep your glasses in place with the 18-millimeter bridge and multi-barrel hinges which create rotational stability for a long lasting fit.

Been using these for a few days now and (for me) they really make a difference - even watching TV is easier on the eyes... I was sceptical when I heard about them, but I'm pretty much converted Razz

You could also..

- use a PWM free monitor. even through the glasses PWM will still flicker and cause eyestrain
- a monitor with low blue light setting or software solutions to reduce blue light output (f.lux or screenbright)
- brightness not set too high
- eye health nutritional supplements also work for some

I bought some Duco glasses, cheap but I wanted to see if I could counter the eyestrain I've been getting recently. I was dubious, but they do indeed seem to work great.

F.Lux only changes the temp of the colour, it does nothing for glare and whatever else is causing problems (I always install f.lux).

So no, I disagree with the above points - in my case only - they don't work for all.

Dunno about those glasses, but bias lighting is a HUGE help for eyestrain if you game at night.

Yeah I tried bias light with VA monitor. Even if it is very bright after a few minutes the pupils dilate again and it basically looks the same as before - just now with light around the monitor.
It's a nice atmosphere bonus, especially if it can change colour depending on what is displayed (like Ambilight) but it didn't improve perceived black levels for me and I get no eyestrain from the screen anyway.

I hope that once Quantum Dot displays (with HDR & wide gamut) become mainstream it will eliminate the need for glasses and other solution to get rid of the stupid blue light LED problem.
QDEF enhanced backlights produce a spectrum that is much easier on the eyes

And they dont even look that bad. Cool

"Enlightenment is man's emergence from his self-imposed nonage. Nonage is the inability to use one's own understanding without another's guidance. This nonage is self-imposed if its cause lies not in lack of understanding but in indecision and lack of courage to use one's own mind without another's guidance. Dare to know! (Sapere aude.) "Have the courage to use your own understanding," is therefore the motto of the enlightenment."

They filter harsh light, specifically fake/artificial "blue" light, that creates fatigue in some people Smile

I'm using driving glasses in my car, which really help (UV filter and such), so I can imagine it works also for TV and monitors.
I'm interested in trying this out, as I suffer from migraines. I read somewhere that the brains of people who get migraines works slightly differently in terms of 'refreshing' images. A migraine-brain refreshes all the time even when there's no new information to process (like continuously pressing F5 on a static website Very Happy ) while a normal brain only does it when there are changes.
So everything that eases the strain on the eyes is a big win for me Smile

Although I can imagine the comments at the office. Laughing
