Quote:
In Shelter you experience the wild as a mother badger sheltering her cubs from harm. On their journey they get stalked by a bird of prey, encounter perils of the night, river rapids crossings, big forest fires and the looming threat of death by starvation.

Food is to be found, but is there enough for everyone? You will learn that the cubs need food not just to survive, but to enable them overcome the varying challenges they will face as they make their way through the world.

Are you ready for a truly different adventure, something that might evoke feelings you've never felt in a game before? In the wild, all living creatures are put to the test. The question in the end is who will survive to live another day?

Retro Family have once again composed a beautiful soundtrack to an original and graphically innovative setting in a world of nature where shelter is your only hope and survival your only goal.

And to celebrate what I think looks pretty good, here's a DRM free version + Steam key:

I've tried the game earlier this afternoon, cool concept for sure, quite unique. Razz The mechanics are basic, all you have to do is run through the woods, collect food/kill small animals like rats, frogs or even foxes to feed your cubs and hide them from the various dangers, but the final result is pretty great.

You progress through different scenarios, with huge eagles at daytime ( bushes work wonders to lie low), sneaky predators at night (you need to keep the puppies close to you or else they're dead as soon as they hear a weird rumour), big waterfalls to avoid etc.
Btw, the music is also pretty damn fitting^^

Indeed...I did not expect that ending :<

I thoroughly enjoyed it, much more than I thought I would.. though it was awfully short (it took me around 90 minutes to complete it). If the game had randomly generated environments/seasons/scenarios it would be perfect. Razz

They should make Shelter 3 about giraffes. You survive in the African jungle for 6 hours then your dream comes true - you get shipped to Denmark to enjoy safety and tranquility only to get butchered upon arrival because there was a logistics mistake and they actually ordered an ostrich not you.

Didn't expect a sequel, good news. Very Happy The first one was a pleasant 'experiment', but criminally short. Hopefully this #2 will be like a proper game, with more freedom, contents, refined stealth et cetera. Me likey.

Might and Delight invites you to step into the world of Shelter 2 in a standalone adventure set in a fairytale world. This is Paws!

Dark and grime, twist through the vines
Slip through perils with finesse and toil
Be two for strength, be two of mind
Find the way home to familiar soil.

Paws is a tale of two halves and sees you traverse the dark and dank surroundings of an enchanted land as you try to fend off dangers, whilst overcoming the daunting sprawling landscape you encounter as you try to make your way home.

The game combines all the unique elements from the much loved Shelter series to present a lovingly crafted story about loss, friendship and a search for lost love.

Main features:
  • A gripping linear experience in a fantasy setting.
  • For the first time ever in the Shelter world, you play as a young cub accompanied by a companion to help complete puzzles and overcome obstacles in the world.
  • New game play features include the ability to follow tracks using your sense ability.
  • A whole new corner of the world to explore with platforming game mechanics at its core.
  • New original music from Retro Family.
