^ The url doesn't work right now so use this: steam://run/323910

Run it and see if your machine is VR capable, how capable it is and if it isn't what you should upgrade.

Examples of results taken from gaf:

The benchmark appears to run on the Source 2 engine.

3D clocks probably didn't kick in which can happen as this is an actual test instead of reading your components and comparing against a list.

@Bob thanks, that looks like their Aperture tech demo but you said it's static here. Oh well.

@consolitis
It is static.
The scene just changes automatically. You can't move your view or anything.

not interested at all until I see it come with more than sli/crossfire level of compatibility and support.

I expect at least 2 more gpu generations before this becomes mainstream gamer card range.

Oculus + 970 = ready.
Vive + 970 = Capable but not good enough.

I sense BS with this 'test'.

edit: reran it, noticed the gpu clocks were too low. Forcing an update by adjusting the clock speed in afterburner pushed it back up to the right speed, and the result was 'Ready'.

So there does seem to be an issue wth clocks - not great for VR Laughing

The Oculus "test" doesn't test anything (it checks your system against an internal list of devices). This does (it's like a benchmark).

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."

Valve employee on how to enable SLI and more..

Quote:
Looks like this slipped out a little early. Was hoping to answer questions in the morning, but now I can't sleep. Excuse my formatting, typing with one thumb.

Q: No multi GPU support? A: Most games don't support it, so it's not fair to score it yet. Add -multigpu to the command line if you want to try it.

Q: What's low/med fidelity look like? A: We've updated Aperture Robot Repair to tune down fidelity as needed. Any devs with access can try it on a 680 now for proof. Keep in mind that what you see through the headset optics is the only real way to judge the results. Again, not every game/engine will support this immediately but we plan to openly share the tech soon.

Q: Same builds, different results? A: Could be anything from background processes to air temperature. Also, try setting your nVidia performance settings from Adaptive to Prefer Maximum.

Q: No results displayed? A: Could be your virus scanner. I'll try to work with people who have repeatible failures tomorrow.

Run the demo not in VR mode:

Code:
SteamApps\common\SteamVRPerformanceTest\bin\win64\ vr.exe -noassert -retail -vrperftest -autofidelity +map vr_aperture_main -novr -fullscreen -height 1920 -width 1080
