I cant do anything much from the template, as not much is avalable.. eg Rel date.

The 7th Guest and to a lesser extent The 11th hour, where two of my fave games in years gone by, I love the system they used and miss it dearly in recent games, as i am not one for most of the games that come out onto the open market today.

anyways, 7Th guest 3, was in production subtitled "The Collector" but the project was pulled.

a group of fans where annoyed with this and decided to make a Fan game, The project has since got permission fromthe owner of the rights to 7Th guest and the game seems to be ticking along well.

If like me you where / are a fan of the genre, or just remember and enjoyed the first games from years gone by, check out there site and forum, with it being a fan game, maybe we have members of the forum here who are / where fans and would join the crew to make it even better.

I remember the 7th Guest.

It was $80.00 when it first came out here... I couldn't believe a game would cost so much.. and there were hardly any computers made that could even run the thing.

Great times!

I still have the 7th Guest Special Collectors Edition with the making of video. However, the game was only mediocre, like a slideshow with some better rendered minesweeper like games.

Yeah. I got the original box too. Wink
Right now it might be mediocre. Back when this game came out it was 'the bomb'! The puzzles were not bad either.

Myst was like a slideshow (IMHO) 7Th guest didnt have pictures in the way Myst did, you actually moved (allbeit by clicking) through out the house.

I have the original of 7th guest and 11th hour too, I need to get them out cause I may be wrong.

I love adventure games but I have never tried this. What were the original games like? It was based in a huge mansion? Did the games have scare factor? I've been looking for a good horror adventure game for awhile. Cant find any.

you're right, 7th guest was not a pure slideshow, certain parts of the house were prerendered little sequences so you could walk around, but not really as you weren't able to move around freely.
When the game came out is was pretty hyped, but only because of it's rendered sequences, it was one of the first games who really showed the potential of CD-ROM's.

At time it came out, it was a head of it's time. The video and cg was, still is amazing if you ask me. I was pretty young back then so I was scared, especially when you see that female ghost for the first time.
