Sorry for necro but worth a bump IMO
Guide to play Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast (W10 compatible) in native 3D for your VR, Quest (these will need VirtualDesktop or Katanga) AR glasses or 3DTV. We'll also get SpecialK installed as is to lock the Hz at 60, no more unplayable speeds. We'll install the latest FXT mod to make it stable on newer systems, improve some textures, restore flares, support rumble and wheels etc. Trust me, this game is a must play if you're into arcade racers!
1.- download game from here: https://www.myabandonware.com/download/15h1-outrun-2006-coast-2-coast
2.- install OutRun 2006 - Coast 2 Coast_Repack_Setup.exe and check Repack Notes.txt while you're at it.
3.- run OutRun 2006 - Coast 2 Coast (FXT Config) from Start shortcut and set Language, Anti-Aliasing to Quality Level 2, tick Enable Fog... Check Configure Enhancements and Manage Texture Mods. Configure your controls if you have more than one controller connected, or if you use your pedals, wheels, etcetera. Game is DirectInput compatible, so any controller *should* work.
4.- go to game folder and edit outrun2006.ini, using FTX Config always resets the game to windowed mode. Set DX/WINDOWED to 0.
5.- start the game through OutRun 2006 - Coast 2 Coast (FXT) on Start menu to see if it's properly configured!
6.- close the game, go to https://helixmod.blogspot.com/2022/06/announcing-new-geo-11-3d-driver.html and download the driver through the highlighted in yellow geo-11 v0.6.56. Open the zip and copy all the contents inside x32 to the game's dir, where the main .exe is located. Overwrite if necessary. NOTE: Mind you, this driver is compatible with most of all dx11 games if you're eager to try! Use x32 or x64 where appliable.
7.- open d3dx.ini placed in game folder and paste this at the end of the text, down below:
Quote: | [TextureOverrideAllRT]
match_type = Texture2D
match_bind_flags = +render_target
StereoMode = 1 |
This should render the game in native 3D alright. Asked the dev in discord because without these lines game looked flat. Save changes.
8.- open d3dxdm.ini placed in game folder and change direct_mode to your preferred method of stereo output. I'm using TAB for my 3DTV and it works perfectly. Also, change dm_convergence and dm_separation to your desired values. Mine are, for the telly about 2m from me, dm_convergence = 4.0 and dm_separation = 70. These control the 3D effect. Save changes.
NOW, the game should launch in 3D, right? It doesn't, it's a dx8 game. We need to wrap it to dx11 and we'll need dgVoodoo for that. You only need to drop the files inside your game dir. Get it here (Latest release) https://dege.freeweb.hu/dgVoodoo2/dgVoodoo2/
9.- start the game through OutRun 2006 - Coast 2 Coast (FXT) and enjoy the smoothest ride ever
in perfect 3D

Also try DXVK to wrap it under Vulkan.

does the dgVoodoo logo appear in your lower right corner? this would mean the wrapper is working (dx8>dx11) and Geo-11 can see the game.
Did you add these lines to the end of d3dx.ini?
[TextureOverrideAllRT]
match_type = Texture2D
match_bind_flags = +render_target
StereoMode = 1
Also, change force_stereo to 2 in d3dx.ini if it isn't
What hardware do you use?

Nope, so the problem is there.
FXT-stuff works fine.
Trying to get it to run in sbs for BigScreen.
