“Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, the film is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.”
“Aladdin” stars Will Smith as the larger-than-life Genie; Mena Massoud as the charming scoundrel Aladdin; Naomi Scott as Jasmine, the beautiful, self-determined princess; Marwan Kenzari as Jafar, the powerful sorcerer; Navid Negahban as the Sultan concerned with his daughter’s future; Nasim Pedrad as Dalia, Princess Jasmine’s free-spirited best friend and confidante; Billy Magnussen as the handsome and arrogant suitor Prince Anders; and Numan Acar as Hakim, Jafar’s right-hand man and captain of the palace guards. The film is produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich with Marc Platt and Kevin De La Noy serving as executive producers. Alan Menken provides the score, which includes new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and lyricists Howard Ashman and Tim Rice and two new songs written by Menken and songwriters Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The film, which was shot on practical stages in London and on location amidst the stunning desert vistas of Jordan, has a talented creative team helping to bring Agrabah to life, including: director of photography Alan Stewart, production designer Gemma Jackson and costume designer Michael Wilkinson.
So this is again the same story as the animated, rather than the 1001 Nights "original". It's a shame because that tale is a lot more interesting and mature.
I saw things like that in here and in other "woman problems" topics so...... Am I the only one that thinks some authorities needs to be alerted about Saner and him possibly being a rapist and/or kidnapper ?
Saner is not being serious. Unless its the subject of Santa!
They better not fuck this up like did for Beauty & the Beast !!
I thought most people actually liked it?
I thought the Jungle Book was rather okay, but the Beauty & the Beast was horrible in my opinion.
It got decent-ish reviews it seems, but I found it to be pretty bad. I found Emma Watson to be a poor Belle, and the CGI was just.. horrifying None of the charm of the original motion picture - but then again, that's just my opinion.

Will Smith as the larger-than-life Genie
It's no surprise they're adapting their motion picture though, even though I agree with you that the original tale is more interresting
But yeah.. Will Smith as the genie ? That's a big warning sign that it's going to blow big time.

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
Sin317-"im 31 years old and still surprised at how much shit comes out of my ass actually ..."
SteamDRM-"Call of Duty is the symbol of the true perfection in every aspect. Call of Duty games are like Mozart's/Beethoven's symphonies"
deadpoetic-"are you new to the cyberspace?"
Will Smith's push to exist in young people's minds again is embarassing. Including those forced youtube videos his PR department started producing in the last year.
I guess staring as a funny Genie is part of that.
He's working on his comeback, after word got out he and his wife are scientology fanatics.
There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.
Blackwashed, Will Smith as we know isn't blue so why did they cast him?
