This struck home! While I never pursued my PhD, I often did some of my best work in college when under intense time pressure.
And he's right regarding the whole "procrastinators are fucked if there's no deadline" sentiment. I've done fuck all with my life and it's probably already a third (or most likely even half) over by now. Just can't find the will to get started.
Fuck it, there's too much porn and not enough time to be doing important things that require commitment right now.
