Sierra Games has just released the debut trailer for King’s Quest. King’s Quest features a visual style similar to the one found in The Banner Saga, and is coming on PC, old-gen and current-gen consoles.
Developed by The Odd Gentlemen, the new King’s Quest reimagines all the charm, humor, puzzles, exploration and sense of wonder that made the franchise so magical when it first arrived thirty years ago.
Old and grey, King Graham – the hero made legend in the original King’s Quest games – shares the extraordinary stories of his youth with his curious granddaughter, Gwendolyn, taking players back to the feats that shaped a kingdom.
The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
Looks okay, but gameplay seems more like in Dragons Lair?
A new adventure style game or action adventure like the previous game(s) would be nice though

go play it then, it was never a point and click adventure .... Kings Quest 5 was a point and click ... you moved with your direction arrows and wrote a command ... now you will do the same but press a button to auto write those...

KQ3-4 were partially point & click; KQ 5-7 were entirely point & click and KQ 8 was an action adventure. I'd say it's pretty correct to link KQ to point & click games.
I will always hold a dear place in my heart for the adventure games where you had to type commands in, rather than the "remakes" that had you click items and things to try and use them.
It's always sad that those days are gone. I think the last one I played was that awesome joke one from Homestar Runner with Trogdor.
Never played a KQ game before...Is it a game where you can die just like in Broken Sword?

Looks like an indie game with those crappy textures and cel-shading to hide the bad graphics. Seriously, why everything has to be 3D nowadays? Those kind of games i prefer in 2D.
I guess the story, puzzles and dialogs will be as good as the graphics suggest.
// just saw now this will be released in episodes too. Adventure games nowadays..

If it's going to be four or five episodes then that's around 10$ per ep but since you have to buy it complete and there shouldn't be any advanced protection or other triggers it might indeed be worth it to isodemo first and wait for discount.
(I picked up a few Telltale titles during the summer sale this way, slowly migrating them all over to Steam instead of the early stand-alone installer versions.)
(Though I don't tend to start with these until all episodes are out as to avoid having to wait months for the next episode to be released, although I'm still waiting months for all episodes to be out before playing so eh I guess it's fine either way though this way I avoid cliffhangers, at least up until they do one for the inevitable season 2 sequel and so on. )
