Quote: | BioWare appears to be just a day away from revealing Dragon Age 2, officially, going by the role-playing game developer's Twitter tease. Or was it today, when EA and BioWare officially said that Dragon Age 2 is in development? The BioWare biofeed wrote earlier today that "2morrow will be a great day for BioWare fans. Just sayin'." Electronic Arts also wrote earlier today, in a press release about Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, that Dragon Age 2 was in development at BioWare, so that's pretty much confirmed.
See?
Currently announced projects at BioWare include the development of ongoing downloadable content for Mass Effect 2, one of the highest rated video games of all time, Dragon Age 2, the highly anticipated sequel to 2009's "RPG of the Year" Dragon Age: Origins, and the story-driven massively multiplayer online game, Star Wars: The Old Republic.
Of course, Dragon Age 2 isn't much of a surprise, given that EA already blabbed about a sequel to Dragon Age: Origins on the books for the first quarter of 2011. BioWare helped nail down a possible release date of February 1, 2011 with this none-too-subtle teaser included in the retail release of expansion Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening. Oh, and BioWare VP Greg Zeschuk told Joystiq earlier this year that Dragon Age 2 will look "super hot."
To sum up, if you like Dragon Age, show up to the internet tomorrow. |

Soon we'll hear of streamlining and all that crap. Reduced rpg elements and no loot. I would not be surprised.

Truth to be told, loot system in DAO wasn't great. Most of it consisted on "leveled" basic gear, awarded completely random (it would made more sense if enemies doped what they had on themselves), which was useless to the player, since he already had something with enchantments (green bonuses) that surpassed it.
And weight system wasn't great either. 10 gems took more place then 2 sets of armor.

Great stuff!! Hopefully it doesn't get delayed and that we see it EARLY 2011. Hell, I'd be happy to see it this year ^_^

I jizzed in my pants when reading it earlier, great news indeed.
The only thing I'm afraid of is EA interfering with the game

I kind of hope they spend some time developing it so it won't feel like just another DLC or a big expansion.
AND they better fucking make facial expressions in DA2.

I hope they aren't going to rush it..
When thinking that Dragon Age was announced back in 2004.
But what worries me is the "Think like a general and fight like a Spartan with dynamic new combat mechanics that put you right in the heart of battle whether you are a mage, rogue, or warrior."
Since EA is the publisher I can only shiver at the thought of even more dumbed down combat mechanics.
But I have faith in Bioware and believe they can do it again, and create another magnificent RPG.

We can not choose between Races OR Origins in DA2.
http://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/141/index/3052334/1#3052434
Chris Prestley wrote the following;
Quote: | While there are multiple races in the game, like elves, dwarves, etc, in Dragon Age 2 you play a human character. |
This is a bit of a let down.
So seems like we will be their front figure, with a hand which is either a gaunlet or a paw.
But seeing this has made me believe that you play some old bloodcrazed hobo, outcast from society because of your wolf-arm..

i dont see anything wrong with that... i mean if theyre creating a story that specifically deals with humans and certain issues involving the other races, then its perfectly fine. if anything, i APPLAUD a more directional and meaningful story... i felt the one in the first game kinda drifted apart at times and i often lost sight of the ultimate goal..

Let me guess.. it's now a full on action game pretending to be a RPG?

I have a little theory here. Yes, I know it's too early, but the DA2 main char could be
Spoiler: | the son of Morrigan. |

Arm looks more like a dragon's claw to me.
Inb4 your character turns into a dragon.

Hope it's true. Loved the first, even with the repetitive battles. Actually it's probably been in developement for a while. The fact that the new Leliana DLC had fully voiced actors was a pretty big hint imo. I doubt they'd waste the cash to bring in the VAs unless they're already doing something else...

I think the reason they are limiting it to human, is to be able to do voice-over for main character.
I personally, like it more as it is now with DAO, so you can choose more stuff, but I guess this is one of the sacrifices for going more "mainstream".

Must be taking place way after the first game if you can't play as your old character. Save game import is still there as far as I know. Wonder if you'd at least get to run into/kill your old character xD
NO LINKS TO ILLEGAL STUFF IN SIGS - DLC IS ILLEGAL TOO
