Final Fantasy 12 is getting an HD remaster for PS4
Square Enix has revealed a Final Fantasy 12 HD remaster heading to PS4 next year.
Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age will utilise the Zodiac Job System that was part of the Japanese release, but didn’t make it into the Western version of the game.
Rumours of a remake sprouted up last year, when Distant Worlds conductor Arnie Roth told the audience that a Final Fantasy 12 remake was underway. A statement was swiftly issued to the contrary shortly after the news broke.
So if your excitement was snuffed out along with the rumours, it’s time to get pumped again.

I saw things like that in here and in other "woman problems" topics so...... Am I the only one that thinks some authorities needs to be alerted about Saner and him possibly being a rapist and/or kidnapper ?

Played it on PCSX2 for a few hours a long time ago.
Stopped playing then though. No idea if it got boring or just some other and better games came out. I think the second was the case though.
Will definately try it again with the Remaster.

This is pretty good news. XII was the best PS2 Final Fantasy.

Ah well we all know it will end up on PC as well so they could have just announced it this time as well but who knows someone on GaF speculated that there is some kind of timed exclusivity deal with Sony for these remasters since FFX was released exactly 365 days after the PS4 version (and they where sitting on it for months according to steamdb).
Anyway this doesn't really look that much different from just emulating the IZJS version (they could at least remake the textures a bit instead of just filtering them Vaan's alien abs for example....)but i will probably buy it again as well since it's one of my favorite FFs and i really liked the new soundtrack arrangement in FFX so that alone would be reason enough for me.
True but then you can allrdy play this version for years in HD in PCSX2 on PC and it doesn't look much different from the screenshots with shaders and everything enabled.
btw FXIIs Battle system is essentially ATB without separate battle screens and auto pause ( and movement/positioning but it mostly doesn't matter that much) the gambits where optional ( i actually play mostly without them nowadays) so it is pretty much an evolution of FF7s ATB.

Basch stemmed from a different character, which was supposed to be the main character in FFXII. That character was a hybrid of Basch, Vaan and Ashley Riot (Vagrant Story). SE decided to rework the story to include younger characters for their primary audience. And also because, while critically a success, Vagrant Story did not garner major sales. So the change was made and we have the characters that now encompass the game.
Japan is really strange in this regard they have this unhealthy obsession with youth but their society get's older and older cause no one want's to have children.
I heard NIER was slammed pretty hard there as well cause of it's older (and ugly^^) Main character.

That seems apparent, but its one of my main gripes with japanese story. So many unbelievably young characters. Sometimes shows just seem better if you ignore their age, which given their physiques often isnt that difficult.
So say I didn't want to wait until next year and wanted to play an emu version, is there a specific one i should look out for? Some difference between a normal and zodiac version? Thanks men.
'Immediate' access to all gambits and more of them. The Gambits allow you to program your party. (huge plus for me)
The license board is split up into more classical FF classes and you have to assign each character to one of them! So no longer can every character learn everything.
For more you should google it. You should quickly find wikipages detailing some differences.

nice the one final fantasy ive never beaten and wanted to play.
Was playing the zodiac job patched version emulated and was using save states, ended up bugging the game out where the bunny chick couldn't level up. So I just stopped

I played this on PCSX2 a few years ago.
IIRC i very much enjoyed it, despite many people not really liking this FF game.
No idea why i stopped playing though, probably some emulator problems.
