We're excited to reveal that BIG BAD WOLF, the developers of The Council will be working on a Narrative RPG set in the Vampire the Masquerade universe.
Awesome! The Council was pretty good (although the endings did disappoint.)

What, Vampire The Masquerade: Redemption, the first Vamp-game? Or as in the first Bloodline game? Personally I didn't like Redemption and didn't spend all that much time with it as opposed to the flawed but awesome Bloodlines.

Haven't played Redemption. Loved Bloodlines even though i fucked my spec and didn't manage to kill a boss at some point I'll get my vengeance sooner or later though!
A narrative RPG being developed by Big Bad Wolf, the team behind episodic 18th century mystery The Council—has just announced its name: Swansong.
It's a singleplayer game which gives you control of three different vampires, each a member of a different clan within the Camarilla, the organization who see it as their duty to uphold the secret vampire status quo. "Weaving between their intertwined tales, the player has to confront the different points of view of his characters to unravel fact from fiction. With whispers of conspiracy, murder and power struggles, the player must protect his clan, discover the truth and above all enforce the Masquerade, the vampire law designed to conceal the existence of creatures of the night from humans."
Tonight, everything changes. Join us, as we celebrate the unification of Boston and Hartford. As we revolutionize our blood supply. Tonight we celebrate, and tonight everything changes... Just not in the way we expected.
Embrace the role of 3 vampires, each belonging to a different clan of the Camarilla. Weave between their intertwined stories, unravel fact from fiction and make choices that will define the future of the city of Boston.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong is coming to Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in 2021.
Just realized that the full edition of this game is 10 times cheaper in Maradona's land than in EU, so that being my virtual place of residence () since a few years ago I bought it just in case they decide to pull a Horizon Zero Dawn with the prices.
Lmao, not it isn't. Bloodlines (and Redemption I guess) were the exception, not the rule. Vampire was always a game for fucking weirdos, long before purple haired crazy people on Twitter were the flavour of the month.
I'm familiar with what this franchise it, I was huge fan of Redemption and Bloodlines and I've played a good amount of the tabletop RPG.
I have no issues with the weirdness, I even enjoy it. I have an issue with the way they're trying to milk the franchise and the loyal community with one bad title after another. In the end when everything you do within a franchise is disappointing, the franchise dies, it's simple as that.
There are currently 5 titles in development:
Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong (I liked The Council, but the trailer above seems absurd)
Vampire: The Masquerade - Out for Blood - developed by Choice of Games who are mostly working on mobile games.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Parliament of Knives - developed by Choice of Games, check above
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt - The battle royal one which looks horrible
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 (we all know how well this is going)
And none of the games mentioned above look good or are even true to the initial idea of the franchise.
Coteries of New York and Shadows Of New York, which were released in 2019 and 2020 were mediocre as well.
Those are some ugly ass vampires - par for the course now'a'days I suppose. On the other hand, this game's title aged surprisingly well given Bloodline 2's fate.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.
