It's not a kids show. It has children acting characters (and they're not annoying like in other shows) and some of the dialogue is that of children but the story and some of the things that happens... Well, I wouldn't show it to a child.

I watched the first episode, pretty good and yeah kind of scary for kids probably. But I almost wish it was a serial killer or something rather than a supernatural or whatever scifi explanation there's going to be, because some of the supernatural elements did look goofy.
edit: Finished ep5, pretty enjoyable although I maintain much of the supernatural / pseudoscience is goofy as hell.

The last episode was okayish. I was expecting more, but still not bad.
What was that with Hopper getting into the government car at the end?

I'll give it a go, looks interesting enough. I am however sceptical on this: they re-created the 80's.
Pretty sure they can't recreate that in these times any more than some props and sets.
Maybe I'll get proven wrong tomorrow. I'll gladly be wrong though xD
1 episode left to finish it. I looked up who were the cinematographers and they are the Mr. Robot guys. Makes sense (not because the two shows look any similar, but because they both look excellent).
It's also interesting how while it was shot digitally, of course, the cinematography and colors manage to resemble the 80s aesthetic as good as it can get. I was worried about that.
