That actually looks fucking great. Arcsys really know what they're doing when it comes to emulating that animation style. If they nail the gameplay that new trash looking marvel vs capcom is ganna get destroyed

Lootboxes have become way to profitable, it is kind of like the game season passes before where they purposely just hold stuff back to tack on later and get more money out of players. These sort of practices are why I do not buy any game day 1 anymore and just wait for some huge discount or the inclusion in a bundle down the road. With many of the games on my wishlist by the time I get around to get them anyways there is the Ultimate version or Super Deluxe edition with all the goodies included at a much lower cost.
Also interesting if true, one of the screenshots in that thread had Z currency (1000 for the item in question.) and a sort of premium currency (10 for the item in question.) so I would have assumed the premium currency was store bought only.
Not bad then if it's something you can actually earn in-game.
(Might just have been changed through development after the recent storm around this particular practice but the effect is the same.)
And if it's just cosmetics only and not premium characters and such that's not too bad either.
(Street Fighter V is trying a bit of a hybrid but I think the current arcade update makes it a bit of a longer process to earn the fight coins to unlock the characters - 75.000 for each. - and especially the stages. - 100.000 for each. - unless you pay with real money or buy the season passes.)
EDIT: Well monetizing is still what it is but there are worse schemes in some games so overall this doesn't sound like it'll be as bad even if the game has this system, for now at least. Never really know what a patch later on could change.
love how it looks but i'm just not much of an online fighter player, fear the triple a price is gonna be too much for my taste merely for the singleplayer experience.
Reviews are all laudatory, as expected. Story mode is apparently a bit lacklustre, but it has the merit of existing and trying to tell some kind of new story.
