A world of islands and a clear blue sea.
There are various sized islands in the sea; one almost as small as a house and others big enough for an entire colony.
The Owners of the islands are called "Elders." Whole islands, or even parts of land, can be rented.
Home to the Volcano Kingdom, Desert Kingdom, and Jungle Kingdom. Ivoire is full of unique islands with different weather and geography.
The story begins on a small island called "Phantom Isle."
On a small lonely island in Ivoire, lives Ash, a Phantom who lost his life in battle, and Marona, who has the ability to communicate with Phantoms. Sometimes Marona receives Bottlemails that float along the sea.
Marona, who lost her parents when she was very young, makes her living by completing the requests inside the Bottlemails, as a Chroma. However, because of her abilities, the people call her the "Possessed". Even if she completes her work, some clients will hesitate to pay her the reward because of her reputation.
Still, Marona stays optimistic and follows what her parents told her a long time ago; "Help people, and someday everyone will start to like you." Her goal is to save enough money to buy Phantom Isle, which she's currently renting. Like a subtle wave in the sea, the adventures of Marona and Ash are about to begin. |

Oh goodie, more 8bit style graphics. Enough already, it was a nice thing to have a while back, but now it just looks like a 'me too' gimmick.

Seems like NISA is dumping their whole backlog on steam damn that means it could take a while till we get to the newer Disgaeas, anyway game was cool i played the WII remake dunno on which version this is based on would probably make sense to use the WII version since it allrdy has higher res Artwork, btw this looks exactly like it's running in Dolphin.

.... its pretty much japanese take on tactical RPGs .. not sure why simulation but so far i've seen its generally used as strategy-RPG ... its genre where Final Fantasy Tactics, Fire Emblem , Agarest or Disgaea games are (maybe even Valkyria Chronicles )
As for comparision between Disgagea and Phantom Brave:
It's not grid-based, characters other than the heroine are phantoms who she has to confine to objects in the battlefield to let them manifest physically and only for a certain number of turns, there's a turn order instead of player/enemy phase. You can throw enemies off the edge of the map to destroy them (although this levels up the remaining enemies on the screen).
