Dishonored 2 is set 15 years after the Lord Regent has been vanquished and the dreaded Rat Plague has passed into history. An otherworldly usurper has seized the throne from Empress Emily Kaldwin, leaving the fate of the Isles hanging in the balance. As either Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano, travel beyond the legendary streets of Dunwall to Karnaca – a once-dazzling coastal city that holds the key to restoring Emily to power. Armed with the mark of the Outsider and powerful new supernatural abilities, hunt down your enemies and forever alter the fate of the Empire.
Reprise your role as a supernatural assassin in Dishonored 2, the highly anticipated follow up to Arkane Studios’ 2012 Game of the Year! Explore a world unlike any other as either Emily Kaldwin or Corvo Attano - both powerful assassins with their own unique set of supernatural abilities, weapons and unusual gadgets.
Define your own playstyle by blending immersive first-person action, assassination, stealth, mobility and the game’s brutal combat system. Combine the tools at your disposal to creatively eliminate your enemies whether you choose to pursue them unseen or ruthlessly attack head on with weapons drawn. Show no mercy and leave chaos in your wake or find a more subtle way to eliminate your targets. More than ever the choices you make will determine the outcome of each mission, and ultimately the game.

Looks like constant or at least rechargeable god mode.. Really disliked the previous game how you could for example just insta-teleport. I guess these are games made for people who loves playing with wall hacks and god mode?
I really prefer games where you are very vulnerable and not a God type of character, the first Theif games e.g, the exact opposites of this game.

I do like the environments and setting though.
A lot of people, myself included, played the original without using any of those powers. Do a non-lethal playthrough on top of that and you basically do have Thief
The whole point is that you don't have to use the powers. The whole game can be finished without them. Not even for a stealth, non-lethal playthrough do you need more than Blink (it does need that because otherwise you're left with only 1 entry point in some places, which is one that requires fighting).
Not sure i could play a game without using "cheats" which are constantly available to me and not even considered a cheat..
Are these games even balanced for that type of gameplay? Can you for example still jump/climb to explore most areas and take alternativt pathways, without the wallhack flying (teleporting)? If not then you are limiting yourself in a way that takes away from the experience imo, because exploring is a lot of fun in games.
Balanced gameplay is really important as to how enjoyable the experience will be. I'm absolutely not into super hard and frustrating experiences. When it comes to Thief i sometimes kill off guards, but not always, the balace is perfect there i think.

That's your problem then, not the game's
Just don't put the points into those skills, so you can't be tempted to use them. I'm very much against all the handholding we get in games these days, but I do recognise that there are people who do prefer to be able to kick ass. As long as I'm given a choice to do it my way, I'm fine with that.

Yes, that's exactly what made the original so good. I don't think there's anything you can't reach without Blink (obviously a lot quicker with it). I personally don't consider Blink that big of a deal though, I did use that (and only that) because I felt it "fit" with the game. Even so though, I got to most places by just jumping (there's a few "perks" that enhance your climbing/jumping abilities).

Dishonored is no less balanced than Thief (assuming you're talking about the 2014 game). Given the horrid AI in that game, terrible design and general hand holding, you get a lot more freedom in Dishonored to be honest
I think about halfway through the game there's a level with a big bridge connecting 2 sections. Heavily guarded of course. You can climb all the way to the top of that bridge and cross it unseen without having to use blink if you don't want to (OMG SPOILER) - that's the kind of freedom they give you
In fact, I think there's an achievement for a playthrough without using any power at all.
I got the Definitive Edition on PS4. Its pretty cheap to pick up these days and well worth it. Its a lot like Deus Ex in its approach to missions and objectives, only you have the supernatural Outsider powers rather than the augmentations.
I personally would never play the game without the powers at least on a first playthrough as they really add to the fun and not just making the game easier. If I like the game that much and have time (yeah right!) I would like to play it through a 2nd time without using any abilities.
In fact it would be cool if there was an option to disable the abilities to prevent them being using by accident but Im guessing there wont be.
I've had it for PC since release haha. Like so many other games i have only played it for maybe 40 mins, but i might have underrated this one and should get back to it.. noticed there's a 3D vision fix for it too
Signature/Avatar nuking: none (can be changed in your profile)
