(These are copy pastes from another forum)

A week ago i've replaced my Noctua NH-D15 CB to a NH-U12A CB (Size reasons) for my ASUS X570 TUF GAMING PLUS

I think that during the mounting process the mountings lightly touched/poked those black cylinders, the capacitors?, on the motherboard that surrounds the CPU

Now the motherboard has faint electric noises randomly yet constant, but i've noticed that:

-The GPU, GIGABYTE RTX 4070 Super, has a "silent" yet strong noise coming from the LED (I already tried disabling the LED via GIGABYTE's app and it's still there, but it doesn't make any noises anywhere else from the GPU). For some reason if i lay down the tower this "sound" isn't perceptible, and the GPU's tightly screwed (When connecting the PSU with the tower laying down and without screws i saw that it could "wobble" if touched but of course it stays still when screwed)

-The speakers, CREATIVE PEBBLE V3, has a light hissing noise coming from them (Connected via USB C directly to the motherboard) at any volume level

No other device like the keyboard (USB A) nor the monitor (i think) have these noises

Could it be that the motherboard's noises affect other components connected to it?

-------

A few days ago i placed the old cooler, Noctua NH-D15 CB, and the noise is there too. Again, with the previous cooler, before this changfe, this NEVER happened

Yes, i've made sure that when screwing the cooler in again i held the backplate with a hand so that the bolts were tightly screwed (without overdoing it) while the plate remains attached there to prevent having a "separation" with the motherboard (Leading to vibrations)

And when installing the cooler itself (Not the holding mounts) i followed the instructions of "Do 2-3 spins on one bolt, then move to the next one. Rinse and repeat till it's tightly mounted"

However i gotta add that sometimes the mount holders were dancing around and LIGHTLY hit some of the black capacitors that surrounds the CPU. Not sure if this is the reason or the PSU is starting to lose power or have coil whine there that might affect the other components, and it's just nearly 3 years old...

And that the baseplate on the new one had a tiny scratch but it was smooth and soft without any bumpings. People said that thermal paste "fills it up". Temps stays at 33-34C on IDLE with STEAM off (STEAM likes to mess things up, but even worse Microsoft Edge tasks even tho i don't use the app but i need the app to make other apps to work, sadly)

This is a vid of the actual cooler.

Rise the volume to the max as it's hard to hear

CORSAIR RM1200x SHIFT (European cable)

ASUS X570 TUF GAMING PLUS

RYZEN 5800X3D

Noctua NH-U12A Chromax Black

GIGABYTE RTX 4070 Super

2 SATA SSDs, 1 SATA HDD, 1 SATA DVD drive

HDD has been disconnected because it'd interfere with it's own noise

While i can hear the noises the phone doesn't catches em sometimes (mostly the CPU fans), at 0:59 it should be hearable from behind the CPU's mounting plate.

Noises that i am hearing are:

-Motherboard: Front: Around the cooler. Rear: More heard at 0:59 behind the mounting plate, same area as the front.

-GPU: While it's not "heard", if i put my left ear at the GIGABYTE RGB logo my left ear can hear/feel an "intensification" in that area. Rest of the GPU (ports, heatsink by the left and center , and PSU cable) are not heard on both ears. If i disable the RGB with GIGABYTE's app the noise remains there. If i unplug the GPU from the PCI port the sound's gone (But i need the GPU...)

-PSU: It does a soft and faint sssssss like if it was an electrical version of an HDD spinning. After a few seconds it stops but it returns 3-5 seconds after

-HDD: While it doesn't shows connected in the vid to isolate the noises some, this one, a WD Blue SATA HDD 4TB has like 3 noises: Spinning (Acceptable), chirping and a kind of ssssssss like the PSU does. Not sure if the PSU has something to do with it

What i want to know is why these noises are happening and how i can silence them. No, i do not have people to change parts to test things out with so it's all about buying new hardware and try out one by one

Reason i'm asking this is because i have tinnitus and i want to prevent ASAP that these noises gets recorded in my ears FOREVER, and while some are temporal, others aren't... And that i want my PC to stay silent again (Within the fans' noise). I already seem to have that intense GPU "silent noise" in my left ear and it's not going to leave at all. It sounds like a "Riii-iiiing...Riiii-iiiiing....". I used OCCT and it comes from it. The GPU yesterday might've done an enormous "Woooo wooooo" electrical wave through the room that lasted a couple of minutes but it was on IDLE

Audio Spectrum by SpecStream app. Hopefully these helps (3 images in the link!. First one PSU, 2nd GPU, 3rd CPU's left side above GPU (Has rear fan noise but blocked the only working cooler fan)

All that LED and audio hissing might mean that the mobo is not properly "grounded" so maybe a PSU issue or MB power connectors issue/faulty contact? I'd say turn everything off, disconnect the big 24(or 28?) connector and the CPU 8 or 4+4 connectors from the mobo, check them for some damage or dirt, reconnect them back in place firmly but carefully and power it all up again.
Guess testing it with another PSU would rule out the PSU and then point to the mobo, and that would be the "bad" ending Sad

You mentioned that you are from Spain?

Try changing from grounded plug

to one of these

If your house / apartment has a grounded socket maybe you have a faulty ground connection or some faulty equipment in an apartment or even in neighbors apartment.

Ensure to swap plug on PC and everything else connected to it ala monitor, speakers, etc. It would be even better to test it with PC + monitor only.

I'll tell ya what i did:

-Unplug everything from the PSU side (SHIFT = EASY)
-Extract the PSU from the tower's thumb screws (Bless my case for once...)

-Use my air spray cans (Whatever ya wanna call it) and SPRAY THE SHIT OUT OF EVERYTHING INSIDE THE PSU ON BOTH SIDES (Fan side and rear side)...Of course WITHOUT OPENING THE PSU ITSELF (Avoid warranty). Some dust particles flew around but not what i thought it'd be "excessive". The cable socket on the PSU was also dusted out along the cable itself's 3 holes

-Spray on all the PLUG HOLES from the PSU, along JUST the cables that are connected to the PSU (Everything PLASTIC from the cables are NOT bent out and no darkness on the cables' pins in case of burned out)

-Unplug, like you said, the CPU and 24/28 pin connector and spray the shit out of the holes along the cables' holes. They had some dust particles!...Just in case i sprayed the PCI-E slot too along the GPU (Now that had a tiny bit more on dust on all the fans, between the copper fins... EVERYWHERE FROM IT). All other USED holes like USB 3.# connector has been dusted too

-Plug everything back again

CONCLUSION:

-The GPU, both tower layed and standing, does NOT produce the intense "silent" noise!!!... If i put my ear next to it feels like... 80% more silent. There's a feeling still, just not as intense

-The PSU still does it's "I'm gonna LIGHTLY buzz a tad bit, stop... Then return". This doesn't seems noticeable from my distance

-The motherboard kinda still keeps having electric noises, even from behind (There's just a TINY intensity around the CPU area where you might've see in the vid)

While i could disable the C-States that seems to reduce it a ton, i've read that it could make things unstable so i'd rather not touch that. I don't know if it could still be PSU related tho

For some reason now that these noises have been reduced some i seem to hear a new one, an electric buzz but i don't know if it's my right ear's tinnitus or something else. This one i cannot seem to clearly pinpoint it out

There's only ONE THING left to do for now meanwhile.... Change the HDD to another HDD ("Fix" the noise status) or a 4TB SSD. However i am doubtful with the SAMSUNG EVO 870 due to the whole "They die outta nowhere and SAMSUNG hasn't mentioned if they've fixed it with the newest batch of SSDs and/or via a firmware update), because the HDD seems to give my left ear an electricity "wave" that goes up and down all the time (It might vanish in a few hours/days)

EDIT: This "wave" might come from the GPU but it's unclear.... But the HDD must go..

Thank you for the big help for now!. I was dead worried i'd have to change a ton of things and in conclusion was something else

Again, the actual "issue" is the HDD and need suggestions on that. I could try NVME but some people says they make "noises" too (When i want a frigging silent setup). My PS5 has a WD SN850X 2TB WITH HEATSINK and "seems" to have the noise people talks about unless it's something else BUT HEY... IT JUST WORKS!!!..
