I was wondering about what I needed to do to uninstall the cracked version of HL2 and then install the legal Steam download version. I have a coupon that came with my CPU that gives me HL2 bronze version. I wanted to know if there is a trick to remove the hacked version before I connect to Steam and get the proper version. I don't want to get banned by doing it wrong.
no trick, just be sure to uninstall Steam too. I had the hacked version before i bought the real thing, i uninstalled everything, and reinstalled it off the retail cd, and havent had any problems
