Scandinavia is extremely far left when it comes to prison as most of you know. Even tho the majority of people actually want sentences towards the US system with crimes like murder, child abuse and rape. "We"do not believe in punishment, but rehabilitation. That every single person can be rehabilitated and sent out to the society again (exceptions ABB, at least if fucking hope so!)
The reason im writing this is because im pretty much in shock finding out the step father who killed (make that tortured ) his 8 year old step son to death is free, and have been for a couple of years. The kid was afraid a long time before he was killed, probably from different types of abuse. The way he was found killed was with cloth in his mouth.
He got 8 years in jail, think he served 3,5 years. Thats right, he is shopping at the local store 15-20 minutes from me. If I say what I really want to id probably get 6 months in jail myself... this fucking country. A lot of people have been wanting to... end his life, but I guess they figure they will probably end up serving more time. Its so fucked up :'(

And yes that's a sad reality in some countries. Life-sentence should be a minimum thing for some cases.

To me its insane that copyright infringement can get you more years than some real nasty shit around here.
I do believe in rehabilitation for the majority, just that many countries are not doing a proper job on it (Norway being one of the better ones I'd say). There are cases where I'd argue for a death penalty though.

I dont share that idea at all, rehabilitation my ass, how the fuck does a grown man torture and kill a little kid and be free in 3 years. No amount of positivity about rehabilitation and regret can fucking erase the fact that a grown ass man lost complete humane mindset and did what he did. FUCK THAT, jail for life, you wasted someone's life, why should you EVER get any decent treatment, specially since he was in his full preparation of how fucking insane and wrong his act was.
