Debuted at Sonic's 25th Anniversary Party, take a first look at the newest entry in Sonic's journey, arriving Holiday 2017.
Sonic Team has been working on their own title targeting a Holiday 2017 release. Although SEGA didn’t give us much info about the game, they did give us a short teaser trailer for the title – as well as the assurance that it’s not just a sequel, and “an entirely new experience”.
Although the game apparently is it’s own experience and not a sequel to any specific Sonic title, it’s easy to see more than a few similarities to Sonic Generations in the above trailer. We didn’t get much information on the actual gameplay, but based off of the inclusion of both Classic and Modern Sonic – as well as Dreamcast-era Sonic in concept art directly after the trailer – it seems like the idea of multiple Sonic’s with different playstyles might return.
Another interesting tidbit of information included in the trailer is the fact that the title will be releasing on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC… and the Nintendo NX. We still have no idea what the NX is, but Project Sonic 2017 will release on the platform next year.

Some of the backgrounds are rather distracting and the level doesn't really feel much like the old games (it looks the part, but the design itself...).

The US version seems to be different in content though compared to the EU version.
The EU version has art cards instead of the controller skin.

Sega has announced the “Epsiode Shadow” downloadable content for Sonic Forces. It will launch as a free download for everyone who purchases the game, including those who have already pre-ordered the physical editions, on launch day alongside the game.
The “Episode Shadow” add-on focuses on the mysterious backstory between Shadow and Infinite, and includes an additional three Shadow stages plus the ability to replay as Shadow in over 10 Modern Sonic stages.
Additionally, users who pre-order the Digital Bonus Edition, which is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, will receive a Shadow costume for their Hero character.
PC Digital Bonus Edition pre-orders will begin on September 21.

When playing as a custom character, you have the option to have a second "rental" hero join you for the stage. They can be teleported in and use their own wispon set to help out. Here, they battle against Infinite.
