The Park is a single-player horror experience developed by Funcom, set against the backdrop of an amusement park where a dark and sinister secret is just waiting to be uncovered. It will be released for PC in October 2015.

Sounds cool, but they didn't show anything at all that could help you understand how it plays.

This actually looks really interesting, though I'm not usually a fan of "ooooh, scary, you're being stalked, you can't fight back!" scenarios. However, the "press right mouse to shout Callum's name" thing is definitely going to irritate/amuse people.. that's for sure. I still remember the mocking and complaining over Heavy Rain's "press X to Jason" Laughing

I was very disappointed in the lack of "press X to Jessica" while watching a playthrough of Until Dawn. Sad

What was the point of switching to ue4?? The game looks..kinda meh.). and sometimes drops below 60 fps during cutscenes lol..characters models are bad.. LOTS of blurring that hurt my eyes.. I hope the story is good at least..

PS
- 52-54 (then a bit further it gets to 60fps, vsync on) @ 1920x1200 all maxed out, aa x2, right when you first get to the park.. Laughing

-some notes are hard to read coz the font is kinda small..

@sabin1981

It gets better though when it gets dark=) I mean graphics wise.

Atm I'm at the cave where they tell you hensel and Gretel tale and I'm getting 75-78 fps. I'll report what fps I'll get when I'm out of this cave;)

PS OKJ I'm out and fps is all over the place.. from 55 to ~80, atm I'm going forward and it is 55+ lol I wonder if I can set FXAA instead of msaa(?) via control panel...

and now it's 70 fps.. and 60+... oh well Laughing

Check this out

It's one location, fps is very inconsistent and it seems there is no difference between no AA and aa x2 fps wise.

PPS The lowest fps I've seen so far
 Spoiler:

I really don't get it.. some areas look practically the same visually but they don't have such a performance hit..

The "gameplay" is rather simplistic..

You go from one point to another point , when you call for you son the game "shows" you where to go (your son lures you further and further) and what crucial, story wise ,items you should interact with. When you interact with them (say riding a ferris wheel, reading notes..) you either get hallucinations of what happened, see something strange or just talk about the past so that we can learn more about the heroine. Sometimes when you pass a certain "checkpoint" your character says something related to the story.

PS I've finished it. Nice, creepy setting, especially the last part of the "game". it is extremely short
I expected much more than the "game" has to offer tbh..

"What is the Park"

Alas that is exactly what your regular, cheesy puff eating, couch living, stay indoors, pc/console player is wondering about Laughing

Next term should be "What is a girl" and "For what thou be a Vagina?!". dlc incoming "Poke me with thy nipple in my eye".

The game is a little less than an hour, but the story is pretty good and the price (for those who buy games Troll Face ) is fair. Its actually refreshing to see funcom make games that aren't that/or at all ambitious.

I think AMD might not be ready for that game yet.

I've played with the same res as you, fully maxed, meaning 6x AA and never saw a drop under 60 fps, outside of cutscenes that zoom in on a head surrounded by blur Laughing

closest to 99% gpu usage was in the grassy areas going up to the ferris wheel, but still kept 60+

here is the settings page fps and the first scene in the game, without changing the view angle at all, so you can compare if you still have it installed.

Wasn't a bad "game", completed it in a single sitting. quite disturbing near the end, but you do see it coming from a mile away.

Sorry, but this isn't an AMD issue.. it's a game issue. You must just be incredibly lucky to get flawless performance, because here? I turned AA down to TWO and set detail preset to HIGH and it's still terrible overall Sad It will be 60 most of the time (again, lowered settings required) and almost constant 99% GPU but more often than not it will drop, randomly, and yet it looks really poor. Nothing about the visuals are even remotely impressive. It's even worse in cutscenes where it will be in the low 30s Facepalm

The more I see of UE4, the more I dislike it.

amd and kepler I guess. I almost wanted to add a note in the previous, Kepler will likely be crippled Laughing Sad

If you have a spot where you are getting bad fps, and you see the autosave sign, pop out of the game and upload the save, so we can compare and see if its AMD+kepler getting the shaft.

Like I said; most of the time the drops are random. Other times, it's grass or the direction you face. It's just terrible never having a perfectly consistent experience.

sorry to hear Sad

just walked through the game from start again real fast, and this is the most demanding scene i could find. at 1920x1200 most of the time fps is 75-90.

I didn't have problems in this place. Actually I'm gonna redownload it to check how it runs fully maxed (aax6)

I know, but you did mention drops below 60 fps. I just couldn't find those exact scenes from your shots, since the game is dark. I just chimed in to say I never encountered any drops below 60fps. Just ran through the whole outdoor section of the game wit vsync off.

It seemed possible that maybe AMD doesn't have proper Unreal 4 utilization yet, or might be just this game, as the fury is a faster card than a 970.
