So... as some of you might have seen in general section, I bought an apartment and finally have the keys. It is in raw condition so construction crew will be there for next few weeks.
So I already got everything I need like tiles for kitchen and bathroom alongside with all stuff like faucets, lights, some bathroom furniture (my father is making kitchen furniture). Basically everything except standalone furniture and household appliances.

I have some tough time finding out what to do with laminate flooring. I got 12mm thick ac5 panels and I am not sure how to prepare ground (concrete).
I mean it's straight and level so I understand I only need isolation foil and maybe some foam? I got some rolls of 2mm slim polyethylene foam(cause ground is very leveled) but some people say it's trash and will oxidize and turn into sandlike grain in years.
Should I throw it away and get something else? what?

I would like to hear some tips. Maybe some Ikea recommendations and so on.

oh and btw. I finally gave the lady a ring and she said Yes Cool Very Happy (bragging continues from thread in general section)

Awesome man, many congrats! Very Happy

And for what to do in the new apartment:
Pesonally, and if your soon-wife is up to it, i would do some roleplay sex while it's still in a raw state.
Like you are the plumper and want to lay a pipe.

Hire a professional

I did for everything except flooring.
It would be a waste of money as laminate panels are super easy to put down. I just need help choosing right foam or whatever to go underneath

Can't you get some consulting from the shop? I mean about the foam? There are various types of foam sheets etc to put under the laminate. I put 3mm thick foam roll under my kitchen laminate 6 years ago and everything is ok so far.

Do you plan to cover most of the floor with laminate? I know it's cheap and efficient but it sucks in long term (over 5-6 years) unless it's some high-end stuff you have.

I already bought quite expensive laminate floor paneling.. so the laminate itself should be ok. It's like wooden floor but harder
Bathroom and kitchen will have tiles

buy quality stuff for the kitchen (cooking pots etc). With cheap shit you'll be eating the (nonstick) coating real quick and that is terrible.

oh, and congrats! It sounds like you'll have a good life.

About the floor, just kidnap some chicks and slice their throats.
A red to brown floor will do great.

That's usually not a good sign! Very Happy Kinda like if you go into your local electronics retailer and ask for "the best" laptop, while knowing nothing at all about laptops - they'll either sell you the most expensive one, or some mediocre piece of shit.

Good luck with all that - I personally would have found a well recommended pro to deal with that part, but I can understand not wanting to spend the money.

With IKEA, you should have plenty paper left to wipe. Wink
