This brand-new single-player, action-horror VR game features an original story that fully surrounds players within the terrors of the Alien universe. Designed by Alien fans for Alien fans, Survios brings their expertise to crafting this technically advanced, and frightfully immersive Alien virtual reality game.
The website used to list VR and PC as separate platforms, indicating that this might be playable without VR. But all the marketing now seems to suggest that it will be VR-only. We will see...
The latest game we’re working on – we’ve announced it, we haven’t really shown much of it – is based on the Alien movies. So it’s kind of a sci-fi horror game. Sort of a spiritual…well, I think that’s setting a lofty goal, but we were spiritually inspired by Alien: Isolation so we’re hoping to create a compelling virtual reality focused follow-up to the game.
So this is as close to Alien Isolation 2 as you're going to get.
Survios' track record isn't the greatest, but time will tell I guess. I genuinely think Alien Isolation was one of those 'lightning in a bottle' types of mastergames resulting from talents aligning with positive one-off circumstances (similarly to SOMA, Disco Elysium, Subnautica, FNV and other notable examples).
FFS, it's not ALIEN. It's ALIENS when you use the ant-like creatures (yeah, not the perfect organism like the smooth translucent domed-head one /nerd rant over) with ridged heads.

It was originally announced using the ALIENS name and branding:
hows it working on pc, what gpu do u have? also did u try that unreal engine injector witch lets you play basically most of UE games in vr? overall, games are easily yarrr`able or do you have to do anything fancy or buy originals?

3090. works great.
Didn't try the unreal injector but i've tried other fan made projects and they work well, played Jedi Knight in VR for example, pretty cool. These are always more cumbersome to play than just getting a Quest game in the store though. The older i get the less i feel like researching shit to play something.
For Quest games i just purchase them in the store, for other VR games it's a mix, i yarrr some and purchase some. I use Virtual Desktop to play those.
I second Virtual Desktop, not for this as I dont have this.
But Virtual Desktop runs nearly everything that is PC linked, better than the quest PC app itself does.

haha yeah i get you, feeling the same. got psvr2 tho quest 3 seems tempting, i have 4070 and decent cpu, should be fine.
tho from what i get, quest 3 is standalone where gfx quality isnt that good, but really shines in pcvr when set up properly, what do u think about it, does fidelity and overall quality is meh when ure using quest 3 in standalone mode?
ive checked arizona sunshine on yt and quest standalone sucked big time, ps5vr2 was better, and pcvr (quest 3 connected to pc) was the same with more details and crisper
i had psvr1, now got vr2 but thinking about quest 3 while i still can return ps5vr2 (tho its decent, just thinking if i could make a better choice and am i willing to mess with injectors and pcvr lol).
tho sony just announced ps5 adapter to pc, 59 euro, releases in august, they even used HL alyx on offical ad lol

I havent had any problems with it in stand alone, but I only have the 'free' comes with it ones. So vurt probably can answer that better.
All my usage of it is from PC link. In that it is really good. I honestly cannot tell a difference between wifi linked, and cable linked. So never use the cable to PC.
I traded up from a vive pro 2, and when I got it I left both hooked up to compare them.
But within seconds of putting on the quest 3 (literally like 10 seconds of looking around) didnt even need to swap back to tell it was miles better. Unhooked the pro 2 and gave it to daughter that day
iIf i had the vr2 i would absolutely wait for the PC adapter instead, if its PCVR you want to play.
yeah, but i can return vr2 for 2 weeks, now price is comparable to quest 3 which from what i hear looks better in pcvr (tho not in standalone), and that ps5 adapter is additional 60eu which in summary looks more expensive than quest 3 which supposedly has better view with those 'pancake' lances and from what im reading looks sharper.
anyway, i guess one can relatively easy play pirated lets say beat saber or kayak vr or other stuff?
im on the fence if i should keep psvr2 cuz i have some games already + sony ecosystem might bring some good titles in the future, on the other hand quest 3 has slightly better image and overall comes cheaper + you can download gamez + stuff like UE injector, dunno if ps5vr2 will have same capabilities, in requirements they say it needs steam acc, might be troublesome to work without original steam games i guess.
If your current one has the Fresnel lenses. IMHO pancake is massively better.
It was the main thing that made me instantly switch from the vive pro 2. Quest 3 is the only one of the 5-6 headsets I have had so far that the lenses was "holy shit this is better".
Stuff looked 10x crisper when directly looked at, halo gone, edges chromatic aberration and jaggy/distortion from the ridges removed.

yeah its fresnel in ps5, hear that pancake ones are way better and you seem to confirm that.
and ps5 headset even with that pc dongle will require PS app and steam vr app, wire from dongle to pc and from googles to that, also psvr on pc wont use hdr, eye tracking, haptics (basic rumble) and so on, its little bit shitty cant deny that.
also lets say for example arizona sunshine - standalone version on Q3 looks meh, but can you play it via pcvr too? or if game is only avaliable on meta shop then your only option is to play it via standalone mode from that shop? any of you tried pirating vr games or is everyone buying them now?
edit - from what im googling the vr pirate scene seems to be quite hidden? some reddit guide on how to download games inclues telegram channels, other crap like that, theres no proper torrent/warez websites for that?
Yes you can run any PCVR game so of course you can play Arizona Sunshine PCVR.
Quest 3 games are really only great in the sense that you can play those games anywhere, doesn't require a computer. Unlike other VR sets it's also a game system.

There is a PC app/program you can buy meta games from too not only the headset.
Like a steam/xbox store/whatever just for meta games.
Cant comment on the experince or list of games on it myself as never bought anything on it or on the stand alone headset store. All my VR games are steam ones. But I know its there and 99% sure it has all the games the standalone store has, and more.
That software also how you connect your headset to PC (or use Virtual Desktop. my suggestion).
For pirating, since i use virtual desktop as my connecting software its just like any other game I wanted to play in VR before the quest that wasnt on steam: Add to steam as external listing, start it like any other game.

thanks for reply guys, it cleared the picture a bit. as for pcvr i have ryzen 9 3900X 3.8GHZ, rtx 4070 (not Ti), 32 gigs of ram. guess i should be fine with fluid with pcvr? i can turn some settings down a bit ofc, usually some shadows and postprocessing. checked that quest 3 uses some new codec that rtx 4X cards do support. what im mostly interested is HL alyx, some ue injector stuff maybe (alien games, isolation, fireteam, some other crap), also some basic shit, creed, beat saber, red matter 1-2 and so on. i dont expect cyberpunk all max so i guess rest will be playable?
btw ps5vr2 looks ok but imo it lacks games, also prices are higher on psn store, sweetspot isnt great (it looks fine when you super adjust the headset but it needs to be adjusted again if you move a lot in creed or other stuff). i planned to keep it but its more cash for that pc adapter, another displayport cable + and it completely drops best headset features - hdr, eye tracking rendering, wtf. from what i saw the alyx alone is way above anything in vr on ps5, maybe horizon game looks better but feels like great looking tech demo, not a proper game.
