Ok people get your little paws ready for some voting. Would you peeps like to see the threads in this forum prefixed with [RELEASED], [REVIEW], [RUMOR], [NEWS], and so on, like in the Console forum? Vote!

btw, there's already a discussion about that over here http://www.nfohump.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=723#13671

Why not? The forum will look much cleaner that way and it's easier to find duplicate posts. Are you guys afraid of changes?

Yep. I think it will make stuff much easier to find.

There will always be idiots and I don't think there will suddenly be more of them just because the site gets more organised. Any silly posts will just get nuked by the mods anyway...

a good idea in concept but in reality i doubt it will work. its seems hard enough for some people to write new threads already, without having to write [RELEASE] in front of it  Wink

as long as the official releasename is included i think it should be clear enough Smile

Nay here it would look way too messy and confusing when you have two/three topics of the game one when its previewed and one when released by groups one when its reviewed, i prefer to talk about the game when its released and like the forum as it is.

the only way it would be good would be with a filter that could sort the prefixes in order of the prefix.
if no filter will be made its useless since the prefixed things will be spread out all over the forum just as it is now without them, so people will still have to scroll and search for the thing they want.

i doubt a filter is planned so i vote NAY! Smile
and if prefixes will be added atleast make it so we can post WITHOUT prefixes since some game related things might not fit any of the prefixes.
for example, i wanted to post something about a GBA game in the console room some time ago (old forum) but i couldnt since the prefix was missing! Laughing

edit: oh man i see that AYE is in the lead, thats fucked up Sad

As said, this would work very well together with a filter.

here is some prefixs we could use:

[released]
[news]
[review]
[preview]
[info]
[discussion]
[tips]
[question]
[releasedate]
[other]
[rumor]

If a crap thread turns up, then the mods can add [crap], [read rules!] or something.

This would make things much easier imo. It would also help against dubble posting.

AYE!

I think it's a good idea, and people who will use the [released] prefix without seeing it on the nforce main pagefirst, will get an immediate ban!

You know whats ironic? i bet most of the people who voted Yes/aye are the "lurkers" the ones who dont even post or visit very often, snivelling in the background like a bunch of lazy bums with muted ideas and silenced confidence

exactly what i think.
all the mods seem to be against it and most of the old nforcers also.
this is something that admins and mods shuld decide since there are so many that just push whatever for the sake of it, but they really dont give a shit.

Im all for the idea. Although I have been busy lately thus my inactivity, lurkers are users too and have the right to voice thier thoughts on a matter which will effect them. I think the idea would make it easier for the mods (allowing them to simply walk into a thread, realise its about something false and close it straight off.) and would let users who only like reading about certain things do so. Of course the people who truely matter are those looking after the forum, maybe a vote "within the ranks" would give your a better idea, I would hate to see the mods angery to the extent where they no longer wished to work.

anyway.. *is done*

Maybe some of us dont want to litter the boards with our nonsensical epiphanies of stupidy and meaninglessness time consuming uninformational jargon.

That sounds about as good as what you wrote, huh?

I vote nay.
