Title: Once Upon a Time
Year: 2011
Genre: Adventure, Drama, Fantasy
Rating: 8.3 (45,604 Votes)
Runtime: 60 min
IMDB: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1843230/

Quote:

Cast: Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Lana Parrilla, Josh Dallas, Robert Carlyle, Meghan Ory

Quote:
About the Show

This is Fairy Tale Land. It's filled with magic, monsters and all of the characters we all know from stories growing up. It's real, and so are the people in it. But unlike the "happily ever after" you may have heard about, their stories continued, and The Evil Queen cast a Dark Curse over the land....

This is Storybrooke. It's a quiet, little, New England town filled with people who go about their everyday lives with no idea who they really are. The Queen's Curse has trapped them here and placed her in near-complete control. They have no real memories and no real hope.

----------------------------------------

I just finished watching season 1 and just watched the first 3 episodes of season 2. It's reeeeeeeeallllyyyy good. I didn't know about this show until I've seen a commercial of it in the (german-)cinema when I was watching looper.

At first it's kinda slow like almost every other show, but it gets more and more interesting from episode to episode.

I recommend this show to everyone who grew up with fairy tales like snow white, pinocchio, red riding hood & etc.

yeah I grew up with those stories and the show is raping them, arbitrarily mixing up stuff.
very average..if you're really good at suspending disbelief you might enjoy the show, but I cant do that
I suffered through the whole 1st season and it never really got any better, not even Carlyle can save it.

I watched the first couple of eps when it initially started. It felt made more for women audience, and even if it wasn't I didn't consider it all that good.

Well, I like it because they're changing the stories and mixing them with other characters from those tales Very Happy.

they need to change the dumb bitch who plays Snow White and the even more annoying woman who plays her Daughter.
Also, they could change Prince Charming....none of those 3 actors are of the quality to be on a major network production like this show and really do dramatically make the show less good.
Casting fucked up royally.

But as for the theme, content, storyline, mixing and matching of stories/tales/legends and stuff (and Robert Carlyle as Rumpelstilskin really is perfect, like the chick who plays Regin/Evil Queen), its one of the only shows on network tv that actually has news episodes that I watch...
This, Anger Management, The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Family Guy, Simpsons, American Dad.....only shows on basic cable/network tv that are good imo

The really good shows seem to have moved to premium cable chans like HBO and what not...I end up watching HBO/TMN alot (game of thrones, true blood etc)
And The Walking Dead is really good but AMC isnt considered basic cable or network tv, its cable

No.

They should have ended it like two seasons ago. I'm not even watching this new crap of a season...

Typical american shit show. Was promising in the start, but the shit started piling up midseason. This time we get twice the amount of cliches because of the fantas yland flashbacks. And that fucking major is getting ridiculous. She's messing with stuff all the time that's none of her concern and people just go along with it. All the time. Not to mention how she always manages to be where stuff happens. Seeing how she meddles with everything i would think she was quite busy.

Snow whites daughter was tough in the beginning, but now she's just a sissy. Always ready to stick it to her, but when confronted we often get not a single word from her.

And it all seems to be centered around that fucking cat and mouse love story between snow white and prince charming that's as ridiculous as it gets because they never get done with it, always find a reason to keep them apart at the last second effectively forcing me to watch more of that vomit.

As with Grimm in really close to just ditching this shit.

I just watched the first 2 or 3 episodes.
And while i really dig the theme of the series, the CGI and costumes in the fairy tale flashbacks look really crap at times Surprised I mean the costumes for example are too clean and fancy to be believable for me. (jaja they are nobles, but still) And the "trolls" looked more like orcs with dreadlocks wtf, and there mouth was barely able to move because of that crap makeup there. And in some/many scenes you can clearly see what is CGI Sad

On the other hand the acting till now seems pretty good. Also there are some nice bitches with good asses and nice faces
