In the world of Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, players enter the kingdom of Ding Dong Dell, where cats, mice, and humans once lived in harmony. After a treacherous coup, Evan, the young boy king of Ding Dong Dell is banished from his kingdom. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom recounts the story of this deposed king and his journey to build his own kingdom and unite the entire world.

Supporting Evan on his adventure are friends Roland, Tani, and beings known as Higgledies who come from the power of the hearts found within people, animals, and elements such as fire and wind. Only individuals with pure hearts can see the Higgledies. The Higgledies will aid Evan throughout his journey, helping him in battles, and letting him reach places he wouldn’t otherwise be able to access. Join Evan on his quest as he fights powerful monsters, face perilous dungeons, and rises to once again become a King!

Another interesting figure that was revealed today was that the game will run at 60 fps on the PS4. While the current build that was shown to the press was running at 30 fps, Level 5 president, Akhiro Hino confirmed that the final game will run at 60 fps on the PS4.

Hell yea, these games are a beautiful homage to oldschool JRPGs, complete with a proper overworld map.

Hope they won't skimp out on cutscenes in the second half for this game as well. But the game was awesome anyway.

I only know of one earlier game and that got pretty good reviews but was console exclusive.

Might have to watch a playtrough or read a story summary if this is closely connected to that game.

EDIT:
Actually let's just delete that, think it sounded better in my head.
(Much like everything else I write. Razz )

i got a small feeling that they will do ps4/steam remaster of the first one if story is tied together ... similarly how Koei did it with its Atelier mysterious trilogy

First game had a really cool world, a nice art style, an ok story and a godawful combat system, seriously it's the worst jrpg combat system ever, seems like they abandoned it for something closer to Tales of/Star Ocean this time thank God.

I don't think that there's a direct story connection between the first game and the second one. First game is skippable (IMO Razz).

Guessing they're asking about the first one? And the reply is "It is planned." from what the translation got me.

EDIT: Not happening.
