never done this before so no idea how this works.. heres my question...
I have a current hdd with windows installed on it.
I want to install a new hdd as my main drive and install windows on it. HOW can i keep my old hdd (with windows installed on it) still plugged in (as a storage drive, so i can grab files off of it, etc) without it interfering with the windows install on the new hdd without formatting it?

Unplug old HDD during Windows install on a new HDD. After installation plug it back, and you may need to change the boot order in BIOS.

thanks.. so windows wont have a problem with two fully installed os's on one system? it'll just pick whichever drive its told to boot first, and run with that?

yes ofc. you can add the second windows drive to the main windows bootmanager too (then you dont have to use the bios boot device selection screen to change to the other one), have in mind that if you use for example 7 and 10 you have to add it to 10s boot options cause 7 wont recognize the 10 installation
