im very pissed that they added this mode and i dont sign up for the Beta -.-
It's too early to tell I think. There are some videos on YT, mostly with problematic games and the results are pretty promising, there's a very visible difference.
There are many of these on yt. Sometimes it's more visible, sometimes less, depending on the problems the game in question actually had. Sadly, it also doesn't solve frame pacing issues some games have - like Bloodborne, although it does run more smoothly too. We'll know more once Digital Foundry publishes a more in-depth analysis.
Yeah, it won't allow to go over the cap. But since so many games don't run so well nowadays, I'd say it is a pretty noticeable change, if only because of lazy optimization. I'm a bit affraid it may make devs even more lazy in regards to standard PS4 performance, however.
