So... just week ago I finally got some new parts. (bragging time!!!)
Fractal Define C case, PSU evga g2 550w, cooler corsair sp120 for cpu and seagate firecuda 1tb sshd.

Thanks to this update pc is now nearly inaudible and I get no coil whine from psu(and its modular which I always wanted). I love the look and always wanted a silent dust free case with filters. I also got sp120 corsair cooler for macho 120 on cpu and firecuda sshd because my 5yo wd blue was old, very noisy and seemed on brink of death. Firecuda is a bit faster, nearly silent and have ssd for caching so its a great little feature.
Also, Running all fans at 1000 rpm is almost silent and gives good enough cooling.

So now there is not a lot I can do to this pc is there?
2500k at 4.5ghz is max I am getting on it.
Gigabyte g1 gtx1060 is great and still have some room for oc when I need it.
Keyboard is cherry with cherrymx black keys, mouse is g400, speakers mackie cr3 and fiio e10k as dac and headphone amp(btw koss porta pro - best hp ever)

The only thing I could probably upgrade is (besides motherboard and cpu which is too expensive for now) ram. I am running at 1600mhz oc but maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to get 2x4gb of the same ram as I have now.

I know it's not a beast or anything but I like where it's at Very Happy
edit (btw 11k in firestrike... that gpu is getting 12k with much better cpu so this is why I am not upgrading cpu just yet)

Sshd?
Last time I checked that was just another "create something new without real knowledge, lets mix 2 things up, ohh but its crap!, nevermind people will buy it anyway".
So why not ssd all the way?
I can't even imagine what load times/texture streaming would be on an hdd. (today's games of course)

All in all You have a very nice clean setup Smile

Second hand i7-2600K or 2700K, gives you about 30% more CPU performance at the same clocks.

I did not got ssd bencause of the price. And figured sshd will be ok even if its a little upgrade over normal hdd. At least its somehow quieter and there is potential for it to be faster.

2600k, 2700k or 3570 are all pretty expensive but I will keep my eye out

This video explains its a pretty good idea to get better clocked ddr3.

I have only 8gb 1333mhz anyway. 2133 is somehow expesnive but 1600 and 1866 is pretty cheap and I could get some. Any idea which is the best for 2500k ? Also, some say ddr3 and some say ddr3... I just thought that it's clock speed dependant

my board supports "DDR3 2133(OC)/1866(OC)/1600/1333/1066" whatever that oc means.
Also, my board spec says it does XMP but there seem to be no xmp settings for my current memory.
So I have those options:

1)Cheapest - get another 2x4gb of 1333 kingston blu. I am running it at 1600 anyway.
2)Throw it away and get 2x8gb of something 1600/1866 with xmp

Though TBH i find it rather dumb anyways, to even consider upgrading a 2500k to a 2600k/2700k with an out-of-production socket.

Save the money and get one of the coming Ryzens with nice DDR4-3000 RAM.

I will see if I can get 2133.
I don't like buying used hardware but used 2133 is the same price as new 1866. G skill sniper, corsair vengeance and kingstone black fury are all available ddr3 memories.

ok.. I need to wait for 10th of next month Laughing

edit: Ryzen is not a bad idea. I would need new motherboard, cpu and ram... that would cost like 800$ minimum. And with getting new memory I will spend less than 100$.

I am happy with 1080p performance even as it is now.

I'm gonna ditch my 2500k, it's definitely starting to struggle. Especially with genres I enjoy.. and that's in 1080p.

I mean, it's still a very capable CPU... but the more CPU intensive games plus my rising interest in streaming... he sadly isn't cut out for it.

Not sure if it will be a Ryzen.. depends on Intel's actions in terms or pricing.

Which in return depends on how Ryzen will perform in real world scenarios, not some benchmark tool.
