For the past 4 years I've been looking for a bigger place to move to - planning to rent a small house (I lived in a tiny apartment). Then last august, I heard about a government supported plan to help out young people to make buying a house affordable.
I enrolled, got on a waiting list and got VERY lucky and in November got offered a nice brand new 4 bedroom house with a decent garden for an affordable price (€194.000 valued at €265.000). So, in the space of a few months, I'm suddenly the proud owner of my own little house!
However, once the "regular" rooms are done (living room, bedroom, etc.) I want to start working on a game room. Size is 3,5 meters by 5 meters - my desk (160cm by 90cm) will need to go there and other than that, I'm trying to think of ideas to make it a sexy cozy place to game - leaving room for my Vive as well (3x2,5m should be enough I think).
Anyone have any ideas how to make a cool game room without costing me a small fortune?

Where is inter when you need him? I have no clue how to decorate that but I'd love to see some images for inspiration aswell.

I already had the idea of adding vintage posters on the wall - I can have those printed at work very easily. I also have an arcade cabinet (table model) but that can go in the living room as well. It's surprisingly hard to find affordable game-related decorations, however.

Don't forget to check your retailers that also sell games. They get tons of game related PR stuff like big carboard figurines and similar... You could check if they have some leftovers

Yup, Belgians like to have mansions as houses. The term 'Villa' used here in Sweden always makes me giggle at how puny those houses are.
You might want to check out some Retro gamer youtubers, they usually have some great game rooms and tend to showcase them off once in a while.
Can't give any links since I usually just watch those things when they end up in recommendations so I tend to forget their names even. But do a search for Game Rooms to get some ideas and work from there.

I don't have any useful advices since my gaming "room" consists of one random desk thrown into a corner, but congrats! Your house is almost bigger than my hometown haha

Yeah I don't want the place too full. On the other hand, cosiness comes largely from a lack of open spaces so it's a game of balancing space and cosiness. That's why I wanted to cover the floor, give it a warm feeling, cover the blank walls with posters, shelves, etc.
