A Live Action Trailer for Far Cry 5 was found being filmed in Montana. The game will be a 'spaghetti western' due to release in September 2017. Far Cry 5 is likely to be revealed at E3 2017 by Ubisoft.

both of those are better than this far cry shit
Yes. that includes far cry 1. People tend to forget shitty story, characters and all the monsters parts

Far Cry 2 was magnificent, excellent gunplay woth many drawbacks that pushed people away. Story was shit. FC3 was kinda fun and looked and ran great. Blood Dragon was good for a quick playthrough.

Yep, I'm with you on that. Didn't play the last Far Cry - the setting wasn't interesting for me but from what I gather I didn't miss much.
This looks interesting though. Not enough games set in those troubled times.

Far Cry 1 and Crysis both. When the monsters show up, the games go to shit.
That's the reason i didn't finish Crysis 2 and 3, when i saw the story shifted to the monsters, i was like "meh, no thanks"

Stopping at Blood Dragon was definitely a wise decision, since FC4 first and Primal later were the games that showed the Ubifatigue(R) in its full extent, turning the fun into boredom and chore due to the sense of deja vu/lack of ideas.
Just like Assassin's Creed, a revolution is severely needed in the gameplay department, it's a necessity and even Ubi is aware of it. Thing is, they may end up making things even worse (difficult to achieve that after Primal, but never say never ).
There would be more hope if this was related to the CoJ franchise with Techland involved, usually they completely nail the western mood and basics in their games* including the stylish Gunslinger.
*minus one...The bloody Cartel which I believe was produced under the influence of heavy pearish drugs
At last an interesting setting! So few western-based AAA games.
Yeah, too bad that it's ubishit

As opposed to gaylo's and hurrs of durrs great story and characters
Gaylo have shitty terrible non existent story... I agree.
But GoW have actually interesting story but you only played firs one and not 2nd and 3rd. Those games really did some cool things in gameplay, characters and story department. Almost totally different games than first one.
as for Crysis games - I liked all of them with 2 being my fav. But it's true. Monsters do make those games worse

i think theyre going the wrong way. they should have gone for a high concept scifi game.
far cry in space.
either that or gone in a completely different direction, and aimed for a kinda surreal lovecraftian horror angle. that could be kinda neat too. far cry cthulhu. far crythulhu

hell yeah its mental, and way more exciting than stealing horses and pew pewing bank robbers or throwing spears at neanderthals.
why would you possibly be against a game set, i dunno... in the 40s or 50s..set in some old rickety english city, with fucked up occult occurrences and the like. Open world, occult, demonic old god weird shit? id love a game like that. A large scale undying-type game? id take that over a western for sure.
Heh New Vegas featured a western setting I guess and well the old brush rifle and what the revolver was called were among the strongest weapons in the game standing up well to laser or plasma while penetrating through even power armor.
