This retro-inspired 2D Action RPG might outright surprise you. CrossCode combines 16-bit SNES-style graphics with butter-smooth physics, a fast-paced combat system, and engaging puzzle mechanics, served with a gripping sci-fi story.
Take the best out of two popular genres, find a good balance between them and make a great game. That’s what CrossCode does. And it works pretty well. You get the puzzles of Zelda-esque dungeons and are rewarded with the great variety of equipment you know and love from RPGs. During the fast-paced battles you will use the tools you find on your journey to reveal and exploit the enemies' weaknesses and at the same time will be able to choose equipment and skills for a more in-depth approach in fighting your enemies.

seems like its getting quite close to full release (version 0.9 now) ... they estimate v1.0 to June-September 2017
whats remaining for v1.0 is Full Story, Completing Skill Trees and Indiegogo Backer NPCs, Quests and enemies (maybe not complete) and some more quests

Development Progress
CrossCode Version 0.9.5 was originally scheduled to be released sometime April to May this year. This version will add a big chunk of story that will cover the whole Maroon Valley, Faj’ro Temple, as well as Autumn’s Fall. Now as it turned out… developing this story and everything connected to it took longer than expected. That’s why we most likely won’t be able to finish version 0.9.5 in time. The way things look right now we might have to postpone the release by another month to June 2017. Of course, the release of version 1.0, originally scheduled for June-September 2017, will likely also be impacted by that.
With all that being said, we now target a release of CrossCode in Early 2018. Yes, this is big step, but this should give us enough time to finish the story and make sure it reaches a satisfying conclusion. It will hopefully be the last time we have to postpone the release to such an extend.
That's why we're happy to announce:
CrossCode 1.0 will be released in September 2018!!
We'll have a bigger announcement with the exact release date around the beginning of August with all the bling and shing, but September is locked-in for sure!
After almost 7 years of development
and over 3 years of Early Access,
CrossCode will finally hit Version 1.0 on September 20, 2018!!
What to expect
The full release will be huge and by far the biggest update the game has had so far.
Here is a list of things you can expect from CrossCode 1.0:
The complete main story with at least twice the amount of cutscenes
Awesome and dramatic plot moments™
A complete new area + dungeon + several extensions in existing areas
Rhombus Square - the largest city of the game
New party members!
Over 9 new enemy types + more variations
Over 13 new boss fight and other major battles
About 12 new quests
Several menu improvements and QoL additions
A complete German translation
Countless other small improvements/changes
Also hopefully less buggy than previous major releases, since we do some internal testing this time!
....
Beyond Version 1.0
Development on CrossCode won't stop right at the 1.0 release. There are several feature and content we promised and we plan to keep that promise.
Most of the following content will be released as a free update after the 1.0 release:
A New Game+ mode that allows you to restart the game in a special manner (details still open)
Several additional NPCs, quests, and enemies that we promised to our Indiegogo backers
The Last Minute Hero Guild that (ironically) we decided not to implement in the last minute.
More maps for Rhombus Square and more a few quests that didn't quite make it for version 1.0
The Arena in Rhombus Square! The least you can expect is a boss rush mode among other things!
Beyond that, we have a long, long list of stupid ideas and other content we'd love to add to the game, most likely as a DLC of sorts. But this of course depends on how the release will work out. So no promises on that yet!
...And that's pretty much it!
Now it's time for the final phase of development!
This is a very good game, a nice mix of puzzling and ARPG. A lot of love has gone into this game, it's got a pretty unique idea for the story and its starting to pull me in which is rare these days. Ton's and tons of content, they really took their time and haven't just shoved it out the door once funds started to trickle > I'm at least 20-30 hours into this and only unlocked half the skill tree.
Yeah it's absolutely fantastic beat it a while ago and it's my personal GOTY so far, it's also the only game i know of from Saarland in Germany where i was born, devs are from Saarbrücken which made this an instabuy from me.
Absolutely amazing game, for some reason I just got around to playing it now, finished the story but didn't go for 100% completion yet.
The combat, soundtrack, puzzles, dungeon design, bosses and even the story are all superb. It really shows that this game was created by deeply passionate people and I am looking forward to their next game.
Wonder if anyone here completed this? The first 10-15 hours were great, i loved it. But Holy shit is this game too long, I don't want to uninstall it and leave it there after this many hours but fuck it just keeps going and going.
The jumping sections and secrets pisses of my ocd and so this game is on hiatus. And a bit tedious with the mmo grind

A New Home offers more of what you love: Puzzles, Enemies and huge boss fights. On top of all that you can finally participate in the raid. This time for real.
Anyone getting this?
I wonder if I, with this dlc can go back and finish some quests. I know you could do that before but I don't want to play the end all over again.
