Quote:
The Talos Principle is a philosophical first-person puzzle game from Croteam, the creators of the Serious Sam series, and written by Tom Jubert (FTL, The Swapper) and Jonas Kyratzes (Infinite Ocean). Players are tasked with solving a series of increasingly complex puzzles woven into a metaphysical parable about intelligence and meaning in an inevitably doomed world.

Complex Conundrums: Overcome more than 120 immersive puzzles through the eyes of an advanced artificial intelligence construct and unveil your significance at the behest of your creators.

Anachronistic Juxtaposition: Deploy sophisticated technology furnished by the creators to unravel each predicament entombed within digital recreations of humanity’s ruins. Divert drones, disable turrets, and even replicate time to prove your worth beneath an ancient sky.

Croteam Technology: The Talos Principle is built on Croteam’s Serious Engine 4 technology, the next advancement in the engine behind the Serious Sam series, and a new proprietary method to scan real world locations and historical elements into the game world.

Release date: 2014

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."

Settings:

Uses the latest version of the Serious Engine or what it's name was, runs great even with everything enabled (Ultra and then adding some extra stuff by customizing it further.) although unlike Serious Sam 3 the game isn't as chaotic so it's probably less taxing on current hardware.

After a hour of gameplay i gave up and disabled vsync and forced custom fps limit.

Game engine always uses adaptive v-sync which in 90% cases result in "half-refresh rate sync" due to jumpy FPS. Gonna report this shit hard.

Played a bit of the test (i'm at the castle, i'll leave that for tomorrow though). This is the sort of game i love. I hope the include a lot of exploring in the full game. I enjoyed the environment they created.

just finished the test and I really liked it as was said its very "Portalish" and I can see some very devious puzzles being in the final version which is what these type of games are all about I can also see potential for fan made puzzles too.

Considering how mediocre SS2 and SS3 have been, I prefer this to be honest...

Well Serious Sam was always fun in coop. There are not many good coop games out there. And maybe Serious Sam 4 brings back the different snow desert forest areas.

Croteam is on the right direction. Instead of wasting their time away with low-quality, ignoble, shitty and pathetic shooters like Serious Sam, they resorted to creating something more meaningful and memorable.

Memorable? Honestly? Read about this a few months ago and never heard of it again until now. Won't play it of course. Nothing memorable at all.

The thing is they announced Serious Sam 4 for 2014 and they didn't show us anything. No screen no info nothing. They didn't even delay it properly it is just gone for now for this puzzle game...questionable in my opinion.
