Big fan of the first game and played through it and the DLC so it was a no brainer to instabuy the sequel and I’m not at all disappointed. No black bars make a big difference so I’m glad to confirm letterbox mode is nowhere to be seen! I played for about 7 hours and got to chapter 4. It is a very similar game but seems like a bigger game and is also less linear. The first area I spent about 6 hours in just exploring and completing the side quests. Enemies are the typical freaky disturbing abominations as seen in the first game. Visuals are nothing special but they’re certainly good enough.
Finished the game in just over 20 hours which was total exploration and all side quests completed. I also admit to playing it on casual difficulty which I thought was normal but in hindsight it was quite easy and not at all really challenging. I enjoyed the game though! It was a lot of fun, the story was pretty dull and cringy and the ending was really drawn out but I liked it. The last boss was awesome.
I think I’d like to play it through against some point on a harder difficulty. I dunno when that will be though.
Spoiler:
The cover of Ordinary World was pretty cool as the credits rolled. Also the game was left open for a sequel or more than likely DLC! I wonder if there will be an expansion where we find out what happened to Sykes and maybe get to play as him. That would be cool.
I’d rate the game 8 out of 10.
I unlocked the black bars?! Woohoo! Seriously how the fuck is that an ultimate reward?!
I am playing at the nightmare difficulty because it is supposed to be the difficulty of previous game and It indeed is. With that difficulty it becomes a true survival horror game
I just came to chapter 6 in 10 hours with full exploration and side missions. Lots of sneak kills are required at that difficulty. It is 17 chapters but later chapters might be short so I don’t know how many hours rest will require. Any estimation headshot?
* No autosaves. Die and you will be returned to the title screen.
* A limited amount of saves. You can only save your game seven times throughout the entire game, so you’ll need to plot your course and only save when essential.
* Sebastian will be unable to upgrade his weapons or himself. You’ll have to make it all the way to the end of the game with Sebastian’s base parameters and effectively use every weapon and item in his arsenal to survive until the very end.
Great they did that. Although the shotgun holding animation and shooting looks wonky as fuck. Still nice for 3rd person game

I am loving it so far, guess I am almost at the end now, chapter 14 or 15, it gets a bit tiresome I must note.
Great game overall, I loved the part where you could freely move around the city and explore the buildings, it is way better (and better playable) then the first part.
