The latest entry in the critically acclaimed 40 million unit selling action RPG series, Monster Hunter: World introduces a living, breathing ecosystem in which players take on the role of a hunter that seeks and slays ferocious beasts in heart-pounding battles. Venture on quests alone or with up to three other hunters in a newly designed online drop-in multiplayer system which allows cross-region cooperative play between Japan and the West, uniting the global player base for the first time ever. Loot collected from fallen foes can be used to create new equipment and armor upgrades as players seamlessly move across map areas that comprise the living ecosystems. The landscape and its diverse inhabitants play a critical role as players strategically use the surrounding environment to their advantage. Hunters must use their cunning and abilities to survive the intense and evolving fights as they battle to become the ultimate hunter!
Features:
* Taking on the role of a hunter, players are tasked with going on a research expedition to a newly discovered continent known only as “new world” as they venture on quests to discover more about this mysterious land.
* Utilize the surrounding environment and wildlife to your advantage. For example, pit monsters against one another to lure the main target creature to the right place, but be careful not to become hindered by the hazards they present.
Fresh Monster Hunter: World footage has stomped its way out of San Diego Comic-Con. The shaky, off-screen clip shows some new environmental attacks, as well as a hunter calling in other players for assistance by way of a flare.
While I'd much rather have Dragon's Dogma 2 than this, I'll take it.
I've been intrigued by monster hunter for a long time but never bothered with handhelds much so I only dabbled in it once for a few hours and it didn't blow me away then (no idea what version that even was years ago)
Good to see it's finally on the big screen properly. I think I'll be able to get into this now.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
I did and I have to say I quite enjoyed it. Fairly limited content. I defeated all 3 monsters which have varying difficulties but didn’t bother with multiplayer.
I couldn’t figure out how to mount the monsters. It kept saying R1 but it never worked! Also it was pretty annoying that you have to unsheate your weapon to attack. The amount of times I tried attacking with my weapon still on my back! You would think pressing attack would draw the weapon and attack but nope.
Pretty awesome when the monsters flees, you track it down and then it gets into a fight with another monster. I know I shouldn’t judge the retail release on the Beta and despite the name of the game is hunting and defeating monsters, I hope there is more to do in the game. Hope there are plenty of monsters too.
Pro players can decide to play the game with either the best resolution, best framerate or best graphics. It tried all 3 modes and it looks great in 4K but framerate obviously takes a hit.
Monster Hunter: World players will get to see quite the story unfold. Director Yuya Tokuda told Mein-MMO.de that the main story will take around “40-50 hours to clear the story.” Of course, there’s a ton of post-game content, so it’ll be just as packed with things to do as prior titles in the series.
Someone was able to get a shot of the back of the Japanese box art for Monster Hunter World, and it reveals that the game will only require 16 GB on your hard drive.
