Another Anno? Great, let's hope it's not like the last sorry instalment. 1404 is still my favourite. I would have preferred a really early era. Viking times, middle ages or Norman times, but this will do if it's decent.

Absolutely, I would be very cautious with this one.. the last was so fucking terrible I question whether the game design was meant to insult any fan of the series.

They've been fucking the series over after 1404. Maybe if they add more online DRM it'll magically work out this time!

Yep, basically streamlining the most fun parts of the game so at the end it was basically a shallow city builder.

Actually 2070 was very good once you got used to the new setting.

I have put like maybe 1-2000 hrs into the whole Anno-series and the LAST one was just more than disappointing.

Completely linear and casual. Telling me every freaking little step along the way what to do. I want my enemies on the same map, what the hell it's 201x, just make a friggin bigger map...

The colonization of the moon was very disappointing too and don't let me start about those Mini-Action-Battles...but I heard they changed that feature.

The last Anno was by far the worst installment of the series.

1800 sounds fun, there are just lots of opportunities for developing technology, ships, conflicts...Anno1404 is still great, no need for another medieval part tight now.

Sounds like a good decision, but I'll wait for more info and a review...let's hope it won't be CasualAnno 3.0...

Yeah, 2070 was 'ok', IF you got along with the setting and IF you were ok with making the series a little more casual. I have played it, but after like 150 hrs I just got back to 1404 with Mods.

1800 sounds much more promising to me...

Let's also hope 'The Guild 3' in early 2018 won't be the bugfest I suspect it to be. If someone would just merge a quite complex 'The Guild' with a 'Patrician' and 'Anno1404'...a dream came true.

What was so casual about 2070? As far as i remember it was just as complex as 1404,, especially with the expansion. I agree on the setting though, i liked 1404 more.

2070 was pretty good I found although it already had quite a few annoying aspects - didn't it have that awful DRM as well? I remember it being my first Uplay game and it taking several hours before I actually managed to install Uplay, log in, install the game and play the actual game.

Pretty much my sentiment. I ADORED 1404, loved 2070, despised 2205. The amount of dumbing down and "streamlining" they managed to cram into that rape of a game, this new one have to have stellar, glowing reviews from fans of the old ones before I even consider pirating it, let alone buying it.

The setting looks promising, but the only game that burned me even worse was X-Stillbirth, but not by much.

Likewise, I completely agree. Once upon a time reading the "new Anno game incoming!" was a reason to exult, but after the abysmal 2205, its numerous wrong design decisions and all the greedy Ubipolicies, there is an industrial amount of skepticism involved.

Which is pretty much the usual sentiment whenever sequels of well-known franchises are being announced in this day and age..no joy allowed. Razz Sad

For some dumb reason Ubi puts trailers in Europe and America and never the two shall meet.

This one should work for my red hat'd brothas.

Well, I still liked 2207 Smile

Anyway, that being said, I DO hope, they'll get away a bit from the stream line production system and make it a tad more complicated.

I just hope they don't try make this game a "city builder" like they did with 2207. It was always a trade and eco management game, the last one they removed most of that gameplay and went after new SimCity customers. I was so fucking disappointed with 2207, I just thought anno was a niche trading sim game and they would keep it so..

Even the mmo browser anno had more dignity.

Setting looks quite good actually. Booming era for trading, invention of steam machines, tons of new isle discoveries and so on... Great for an Anno game, BUT on the other hand >ubilol Laughing

I've always seen it as Anno XXXX here. Even boxed copies. Maybe it depends on what part of the US.
