Well... It was definitely AMC, that's for sure. I think it could go either way. But I'm hopefully optimistic based on the pilot.

characters are nice
technical aspects are painfully true , nice to see that

This is actually pretty good. Almost all the technical stuff is correct, setting is correct, music fits and aren't stereotype hit songs. Characters are interesting, story has enough to keep me curious about what's next. Sue me, but I like it.

No. AMD wasn't cloning, they had a licence for the 86. The HCF reference is purely because it has a nice ring.
Closest real world comparison is Compaq

Yea, it got better with every episode; the one about the industry gathering was particularly good.Would be interesting to see how the characters develop in a second season if that pans out; for example, does Lee Pace's character

That is such great news to hear!
Almost finished with the first season (2 eps remain), and I am deeply in love with this show. Took me completely by surprise too, wasn't expecting much at first, but after the pilot episode I was absolutely hooked.
The plot is interesting and smart, actors were cast perfectly, the atmosphere is awesome and nostalgic, music is very fitting and good. Love this.
I really hope that the second season gains some more viewers, I feel like this is seriously under-appreciated. Give it a chance if you haven't.

i never heard of this show before, and now after reading here and getting teh first season i am very very suprised how freaking good this is.. exactly my stuff, old shool, 80´s, PC´s, Macintosh, etc etc.. this is an AWESOME show..
WHERE THE HELL DO I GET THE SOUNDTRACK.. i want this music...its sooo lovely..
watched teh whole first season in 2 days now.. cant whait for teh second to beginn, haha...

Okay so the show is interesting but I want to  3E74 for hyping the music. They use some pretty generic songs from the era and it's only the theme which has some kickass synth music.
1 and 2 are still amazing.
