No mention of VR. The original was a really strong experience in VR, but since they havenโt followed up with adding VR to their F1 games, this will leave it out too.
In addition there will also be a DiRT Rally 2.0 Deluxe Edition which also includes the first two seasons of post-launch additional content, each with three locations (split between rally and rallycross) and five early vehicles unlocks (Ford Escort MkII, Lancia Stratos, Subaru Impreza 1995, AUDI Sport quattro S1 E2 and Ford Fiesta OMSE SuperCar Lite). The Deluxe Edition will also allow players to get their hands on the game four days early, launching on 22nd February 2019 and also includes upgraded starter cars for My Team, in-game bonuses and high reward events. More details about the seasons will be revealed soon.
Yep, they're fucking the consumer over once again. Look forward to console-level difficulty, things that just don't make sense, multiplayer bugs crawling out of every exhaust, and oh yes... What's VR?
My guess is they're using the 'updated' EGO engine as used for the F1 series which somehow can't manage VR.... even though it could EASILY be implemented (Vorpx almost manages it).
Such a shame. I'm happy to be proved wrong, but I suspect I won't be. Especially as if they DO release with VR, then the outcry for F1 not having it will echo from every corner on Earth. (probably.)

No VR mention on the Steam page. Can I start "start assuming things"?
i guess you need to beg them

Speaking to USgamer today at a Dirt Rally 2.0 preview event in London, Codemasters community manager Christina McGrath confirmed that VR support isnโt planned for the sequel as of right now. โWe're focusing on making the core game experience before launch - and after that, if there is demand from our community, then we'll explore the possibility,โ McGrath said.
Well, that's a bummer and that's really stupid of them since the VR support brought them a lot of additional purchases. It's seriously baffling they make such business decisions.
Are they serious with that "if the community asks for it" bullshit ? Everyone wants that VR support and it was one of the highlight of the original game. Really baffling, I really can't come up with a scenario in which they concluded it wasn't necessary.
I really hope they don't fuck the gameplay up but the trust the developers had earned with their first title is being challenged - that's the reason why I tried to remain cautiously optimistic even though there's an accumulation of bad signs. Am I so wrong in wanting this to be good ?

Almost every single comment on reddit and their fb page is: No VR, no buy!
And then they come and say that they will think about it if the community will demand it?

Too bad about all the bad omens that are tainting the anticipation, Dirt Rally deserves the best possible treatment, dammit! (@TheZor: you're not alone ). The WRC license still being held hostage by Kylotonn isn't optimal either, but well-designed tracks and variety can somewhat make up for it. Ripping contents from the main game in order to sell them as "Deluxe" editions on the other hand is plain silly (although it's a common practice in the greedy triple-A panorama, sadly).
Let's hope at least all the slogans about realism will be true. This absolutely must remain a fully simulative title, with no faux middle grounds a lร Dirt 4 and its two shallow separate modes which ultimately ended up disappointing both the casual and hardcore crowds. Codies pls.
If the game is good I don't mind paying for DLC which gives new cars or tracks, probably would have bought them for the first game, too, if it had any.
Yup, judging from the amount of grip and road's structure it does seem more of a Dirt4Rally 2.0, let's hope it's just an impression. Not sure about the strong palette and desaturated look from Mars either..oh well!
That doesn't look like New Zealand one bit, and yeah, doesn't feel like DiRT Rally either..
Expectations at their lowest now - don't laugh too hard Leo
