Quote:
Fox 21 and Hulu have teamed for a television series based on Hitman, the global best-selling video game from IO Interactive. A pilot script will be written by Derek Kolstad, creator of the John Wick action film series, who wrote the first film and scripted the third one that will be released in 2019.

Kolstad will be an executive producer along with Adrian Askarieh and Chuck Gordon. The project will be overseen at Fox 21 by Bert Salke, Jane Francis, Gloria Fan and Kira Innes, and at Hulu by Jordan Helman. The hope is for Hitman to become a flagship series.

The character has been the subject of two films released by Fox — 2007’s Hitman and 2015’s Hitman: Agent 47 — and the intention here is to hew closely to the mythology of the perennially popular video game

If it's the same quality as the recent movie, they can stick it Laughing The first one wasn't *that* extremely bad.

Could be good if 47 if done properly.

They won't do it properly, though, especially not with the John Wick derps in charge.

Poor Agent 47, he just wants to murder folks in peace and everyone keeps using him as a noisy replacement for Vin Diesel Sad
Joking aside, it's tough to capture the essence of Hitman with a TV series, they could go for a procedural solution where each chapter is focused on a target, but it would probably get repetitive unless there's utter brilliance behind the production.

Alternatively, there's the idea of focusing on the Absolution-esque side of it by introducing modern edgy characters, cheesy melodrama and nurses armed with RPGs, not the most alluring scenario. They need to find that perfect balance between the art of silent badass killing, grim aseptic atmosphere and interesting ongoing backstory..Agent 47's most difficult mission so far!

my way of doing a hitman show:

each episode is standalone, where we follow some random man or woman.. throughout the ep slowly we start to get a sense of who this person is, the crimes theyve done, etc, and then at some point in the episode 47 shows up in a disguise and slits the guys throat, and then disappears.

the fun is where the audience is encourages to notice background characters.. trying to spot 47 throughout the episode, as he shows up in a variety of different disguises... reading a newspaper.. window washer, etc..

basically 47 is a background character... AS HE SHOULD BE, BECAUSE HES A SILENT ASSASSIN.

that way you can focus each episode not on repeating 47's character, but a new story each time with a new interesting character... that only exists to get murdered at the end.

I don't see why we can't just have Hitman Blood Money as a TV Show...

I'd prefer a 3 seasons tv series. The first season could be a prequel (how he was made into an assassin) and the next two could be all about the main story including not-so-random assignments.

All seasons should be connected though.

But this can be pulled off only if they get a good writer..

PS Tbh they should make Crying Freeman or Noir into a limited TV series.. Hitman was given 2 chances already and it failed miserably.. ..It's time for other heroes\anti-heroes.
