|
 |
Hello everyone,
Right now I have Win10 installed on my SSD but I would also like to dual boot with Win7.
I have created separate partition on one of my HDD to put it on but during installation I am greeted with this error
"Windows detected the EFI system partition was formatted as NTFS. Format the EFI system partition as FAT32 and restart the installation"
Can anyone help me out how to solve it?

but why?
first problem: maybe new hardware, aka the mobo. doenst work without modifying the win 7 installer
second: installing 7 after 10 doenst work well cause 7 doenst know 10, but 10 does know 7. that fucks up the bootloader if 7 is installed after 10
third: uefi stuff. you most likely installed 10 in uefi mode, thats fine. even with dual boot 7, but you need to deactivate secure boot but still have to activate the uefi mode in order to install 7. and you cant activate secure boot cause 7 wont boot anymore, but if you dont reactivate secure boot 10 might nag you cause you installed in uefi mode with secure boot
long story short: there is absolutely no fucking reason to install 7 side by side to 10

Can you do what you want in a Virtualbox win7 installation instead?

@AnarchoS
Nah, I am still rocking Broadwell-E
@VGAdeadcafe
I guess that could work.
@scaramonga
Finally, someone with sensible replay unless like first replay.
I might just do that. TY.
