Good news everyone
Patrick Stewart, who plays (old) Professor X in the X-Men movies, said he has a big role in Wolverine 3.
http://www.thewrap.com/patrick-stewart-says-professor-x-will-make-more-than-an-appearance-in-next-wolverine-movie/
Quote: | “I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me,” |
And then there is this: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/hugh-jackman-teases-villainous-returns-815866
Quote: | Talking on the Sydney Confidential podcast, Jackman spoke about some popular suggestions in response to his recent call for ideas for the final Wolverine movie, currently scheduled for a 2017 release. Two ideas came up repeatedly, he said.
First, he revealed, there were "lots of calls for Victor Creed to come back," referring to the villain better known as Sabretooth — arguably the hero's arch-nemesis in comic book mythology, and a character who has appeared in both 2000's X-Men and 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, played by Tyler Mane and Liev Schreiber, respectively.
Secondly, he said, "the words 'berserker rage' came up a lot. If you know Wolverine, you'll understand." For comic book fans, that term refers to something that hasn't really happened for the movie version of the character — a moment in which the animalistic side of Wolverine takes over in the heat of the moment, leaving a savage, violent mindless creature that's as dangerous to friends as foes. |
Origins was such a shitty movie but Liev Schreiber was excellent in it, I hope they bring him back.

Can't wait for PG-13 berserker rage!
Fucking Fox won't let Wolvie be rated R, so I expect more fight scenes where his claws that can cut through virtually everything, send people flying when they come into contact with their soft fleshy body parts, instead of uh, cutting through them like a lightsaber through butter.

Well Deadpool is rated R, so you never know, but yeah I doubt it.

Would be nice if they made R rated for everything, just do like Deadpool, one rated for children with over protecting parents and one for the rest.
PC: Yes. Console: No.

If Sabretooth is involved along with Prof X then it looks like the Old Man Logan rumours might be debunked.
But since Old Man Logan has replaced Normal Wolverine in the comics after Secret Wars ends in October, I'm not sure what Fox plans to do. Maybe they'll piss off Marvel
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Old Man Logan was never going to be adapted by Fox.
Reading the wiki entry I see references or appearances of: Abomination, Dr. Doom, Red Skull, Venom symbiote, Hawkeye, S.H.I.E.L.D. and many more. It's simply impossible to adapt that story if you don't own any of those characters. It's one thing if you don't own 1 or 2, but if you don't own a single one.. then you can't do that story.
What they will do is claim they were inspired by concepts, tone and look of Old Man Logan. At this point for example we know that Wolverine's appearance being aged is practically guaranteed (even Stewart talks about it in the above interview).

Something I was thinking, if this is going to be Jackman's (and thus Wolverine's - at least for a while) last appearance (although I'm sure he will do a cameo in Deadpool 2 if or should I say when asked) then either Apocalypse or this movie has to explain how he got his adamantium claws in the new timeline.

Quote: | Insiders say the untitled Wolverine threequel, which James Mangold begins shooting in a month, was always designed as a movie that would receive an R from the ratings board once finished because of the level of violence (and likely language) in the script written by Michael Green. |
It's not like The Wolverine wasn't also filmed as R (and cut down for theatrical) but I'd say it was a rather soft R. So I'll believe the hype when I see enough blood to justify it.

Finally Wolverine can go berserk and cut people to pieces.
Tired of him flinging people around like ragdolls when they should be cut to pieces by his claws.

Jackman is 47 FFS. Get someone else. Someone who is actually convincing as the character, body-wise.

Maybe they'll try to diversify their superhero stuff from now on, one R(wolverine/deadpool) and one PG(X-men) each year

They are basing the storyline on Old Man Logan, Jackman's age is fine this time:
It's his last movie (excluding whatever cameo he might be asked to do in the future), let him have it because after Apocalypse everything points to another soft-reboot a la First Class being in order.

I thought Wolverine was immortal? How can he get old? Or does he just age really slowly?

what is it with these kinds of movies that feel the need to put a 'funny' comic relief character in them? they're just not necessary, and usually just drag down the movie.

He ages really slowly.
The reason why some comics have him more aged than others is because... their writers wanted so. Simple as that.
The reason he will be older in the movie is partly because the actor is older and partly so that they communicate this is his last movie (not that he has to die at the end of it or something but to convey it's the end of an era).
Fortunately it somewhat fits with Days of Future Past because he already had white/grey hair there, because Singer liked Wolverine's looks in that comic.

Simon Kinberg Confirms R-Rating For “Radical, Bold” ‘Wolverine 3’
Quote: | Thankfully, following the smash hit success of “Deadpool,” Hollywood has fallen over themselves to greenlight a bunch of R-rated comic book movies. Most seem to recognize that the it made sense for the mouthy, rude character, but that it’s not a one-size fit all stamp. Still, 20th Century Fox are hoping they make Hugh Jackman‘s next and last turn as Wolverine memorable by letting the movie go hog wild.
Production has started on the tentatively titled “Wolverine 3,” directed by James Mangold, and the rumor for a while now is that it would stamped with an R-rating. And producer Simon Kinberg has now confirmed that’s the plan.
“It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie. It’s violent, it’s kind of like a western in its tone. It’s just a very cool, different film,” he told Collider, adding that the Wolverine in this movie more “radical” and “bold” than what we’ve seen before. So, bigger mutton chops then?
All kidding aside, let’s hope there’s an organic reason for Wolverine to be rolling with swears and boobs, and not just an attempt by Fox to blindly stake similar territory to “Deadpool.” Let us know what you think about Logan getting a chance to really flex his fangs in the comments section. |
