Amazon has set an August 30 premiere for its Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne-fronted fantasy drama Carnival Row
The eight-part series is set in a Victorian fantasy world mythological immigrant creatures whose exotic homelands were invaded by the empires of man. The Pirates of the Caribbean star Bloom plays human detective, Rycroft Philostrate, while Suicide Squad star Delevingne stars as a refugee faerie named Vignette Stonemoss. They rekindle a dangerous affair despite an increasingly intolerant society and Vignette harbors a secret that endangers Philo’s world during his most important case yet: a string of gruesome murders threatening the uneasy peace of the Row.

Is the AMRAP release good? I grabbed the 1080p version but neither PotPlayer nor VLC is willing to play the video, not sure what's up. Everything else plays fine.
EDIT: Never mind, I think something got corrupted during the download.
I've watched 5 episodes now and I like it. The first episode was meh. I guess my brain put blind spots on the flaws (not into all the story lines going on). It's like Jack the Ripper meets Irish mythology meets English society ca. 18th century meets Roots meets "incidental steampunk" meets Jane Austen and so on.
It wasn't superb or anything but still very enjoyable.
The setting was really good, the acting was Okeish (even Cara tried to do her best here , the story was nice albeit kinda predictable, I guessed a lot of stuff including who was the killer.
The first episode was indeed meh. And some episodes were slow, but then it got better.
I appreciated the interspecies erotica scenes.
The ending was great.
8-/10.
PS I don't get all the hate coming from the critics.
It's nicely executed, looks nice and has an interesting world, acting was mediocre from the leads, the story and most of the characters are pretty meh. Hopefully they can improve in S2. 6.5/10 for now.

Hopefully there will be some nude scenes, otherwise what's the point in having her there?
